Guest murray Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Fiesta This problem just developed. USB drives such as flash and Western Digital Passport are no longer recognized in "My Computer". However they are recognized under Hardware Devices and by my Disk Management program. Please help. Thank you.
Guest Bob I Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Re: USB drives not recognized in "My Computer" And do they have a letter in Disk Management? Maybe you assigned the same letter to a network drive? murray wrote: > Fiesta > This problem just developed. > USB drives such as flash and Western Digital Passport are no longer > recognized in "My Computer". > However they are recognized under Hardware Devices and by my Disk Management > program. > Please help. Guest murray Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Re: USB drives not recognized in "My Computer" No Bob. The drive letter is unique, local and still the same as it was when "My Computer" once recognized it. Guest Bob I Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Re: USB drives not recognized in "My Computer" if that letter is missing in My Computer, go to Microsoft Downloads and Power toys and get TweakUI. Use that to UNhide the drive letter. murray wrote: > No Bob. Guest murray Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: USB drives not recognized in "My Computer" Yes they have been formatted and partitioned. And, incidentally, they work fine on my wife's laptop.
