Removing old updates out Windows 7

        When you go to start and go in to uninstall programs in a Windows 7 Home Premium Toshiba Satellite T115D-S1120 and uninstall old update programs out of the computer with Windows 7 is it removed from the Hard Drive, or is there more that you have

to do to remove it from your Hard Drive? I have read that you need to download a Windows 7 update remover tool to remove it from your Hard Drive is this true? Also, by doing this will your computer become faster?
