Sure, most 32 bit applications will install and run fine, the exception

is 32 bit applications that use 16 bit installers.

If you do have a problem come back and post the details, someone can

probably fix it for you.

Re: running 32-bit program on a 64-bit OS.??

Hi, Jins.

Sure.

The only tricky thing is that Vista x64 uses the familiar Program Files

folder for its 64-bit applications. Almost all of the programs today are

still 32-bit and Vista x64 will put those into a new folder called "Program

Files (x86)". This x86 folder was first introduced in WinXP x64.

Makes it very tricky to dual-boot 32-bit/64-bit Windows/Vista and install

all apps in a single "OS-neutral" drive. But running 64-bit only is no

problem except for getting used to that new x86 folder name. Doesn't really

matter to us humans, but WinXP/Vista segregates the 64-bit apps and puts

them, along with their 64-bit DLLs and other supporting stuff into the

non-x86 folder.

At least, that's what I've heard; I don't yet have any 64-bit apps. All my

32-bit apps (Office, Quicken, Photoshop Elements...) run just fine in my

Vista Ultimate x64. The only thing that I miss is my 20-year-old

WordPerfect Office Library Calendar - which was a 16-bit DOS app and won't

run at all in x64.
