USB devices diplay

I'm wanting to reformat a USB external drive. I have just installed the

64bit Home Premium version of Vista on a newly built system and I guess I'm

just going to have to ask some questions until I learn some things on this

version.

I want to use a USB external drive that currently is formatted in Linux.

When I plug it in and go to 'computer', it shows Devices with Removeable

Storage (3) and physically shows three devices; Drive D: my master DVD drive,

Drive E: my slave DVD drive, and Drive F. However, when I right click on

drive F, and then cklick on Properties>Hardware, it lists both of my DVD

drives, my printer, my external drive, and both of my hard drives.

When I click on Start>Computer....Can I make the system display all devices

individually so that I can simply click on each one? Thanks

The problem may be the enclosure. You can always open the

enclosure and remove the hard drive temporarily, connect it

to your computer internally, or possibly run cables from

your computer. You should then be able to delete all the

Linux partitions, repartition as desired and then format the

drive.

Have you checked disk management? What are your options when you right

click on the drive?
