Cannot run x86 programs

Ok, so this is a weird one. It just sort of started happening out of

the blue. My computer gets an IP just fine, but when I attempt to

connect to the internet it won't connect. I did some troubleshooting

and found that I was also having an issue with windows media player

and my antivirus (nod32) crashing. I played around a little more and

found that the x64 versions of these programs worked just fine. I am

able to get online using the x64 version of IE, and my media player

doesn't crash when using the x64 version. Now obviously since the x86

versions are the defaults this causes some issues and most programs

don't see that they are connected to the internet (AIM, Gtalk, etc). I

consider myself fairly well versed in Vista and I have no idea what to

do with this one. Anyway, let me know what you think. Thanks!

RE: Cannot run x86 programs

Hi:

Failure to connect to the Internet using IE x86 has been caused by the

NVidia firewall.

Have you updated your chipset drivers?

Are they NVidia chips?

Try uninstalling the (NVidia) firewall if such is the case.

Chipset is intel. I have an nVidia video card, but I doubt that to be

the issue. Thanks for the attempt though
