64-bit drivers for new system???

I recently completed my first system build and when I install Vista-64, the

monitor losses signal. The card works fine untill Vista starts. How do you

install driver updates for the card before the operating system is installed?

Mobo has no on-board video. How do you install drivers without a sreen to

look at???

 

Gigabyte Mobo- GA-P35-DS3L

Intell core 2 quad- Q6600, LGA775

EVGA e-GeForce 7600 GT

 

Do video cards need to be Vista 64-bit certified???

It should install at least the standard VGA driver but Vista has it's own

drivers for the 7600GT card so the problem may not be a driver issue, do you

have multi monitors connected to the card? if so, remove the secondary

monitor at start again

Some ATI cards had this problem, but this is the first I've seen for the

7600. The problem is an incorrectly sensed synch frequency, from what I've

seen. The workaround is to boot into safe mode and set the frequency and

display size to something nice and safe. (800x600x60 hz is a good safe

place.Ugly. But safe.) Alternatively, you can install updated drivers from

within safe mode. Then, reboot into regular mode and size things as you need

to.

Hi,

An always overlooked factor here is the monitor driver.

It is usually an *.inf file, downloadable from the monitor's manufacturer

site, that tells the video card the monitor capabilities (refresh rates,

resolutions, etc.).

Go to your monitor's manufacturer web and download the proper inf file.

What happens in Device Manager?

Is your monitor there?

I'm using my Sony Triniton TV's S-Video input as a moniter (because DVI has

no signal at all), but I do have video during POST and Bios set-up. Could

this be a Bios problem???

It won't show signal duing safe mode either. Only at POST and start-up.

You need to use the primary output of the card, with no other outputs

connected. If this is a DVI only card, then make sure the DVI monitor is

connected all the way through the process. If that doesn't solve it, and you

have a VGA output on the card, then you're going to need to plug an old

fashioned analog VGA type monitor in until you can get the drivers loaded.
