When I try to install this, it says "This Product is not supported on Vista

operating system"

Also, are there x64 versions of .NET 3.0SP1 and .NET 3.5 for Vista?

Same thing down here.

MS should remove Windows Vista when they say:

"Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003; Windows Vista; Windows XP"

in the aforementioned download page.

Guys,

This is the one that applies to Vista

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&DisplayLang=en

It is the new .NET Framework 3.5 package.

Re: NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (x64) released

I would suspect something unique to your system causing the

problem. I installed the NetFx2.0SP1 without any errors. I

then installed the NetFx3.0SP1 without any errors. and

lastly I installed NetFx3.5, again without any errors. All

these were installed on windows XP x64 w/SP2.

Did you ever install NetFx2.0?

Dominic,

Thanks for the update.

It seems that the only one applicable now is .NET Framework 3.5

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&DisplayLang=en

I downloaded the full 190 megs redist package (bottom of the page).

Installation aborts after a few seconds.

Go figure!

I have .net2 installed. I'd be perfectly happy to uninstall everything

and start from scratch, but there is no obvious way to

uninstall .net.

Re: NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (x64) released

You should be able to uninstall it from the "Add or Remove

Programs" panel in the "Control Panel" just like any other

installed program. My system has entries for "Microsoft

..NET Framework" 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, & 3.5.

Well I don't have those entries in add/remove programs. I think I

tried to out-smart the computer an install the programs again, but it

wouldn't let me do this.

The most likely culprit is a messed up registry, but you know how hard

the registry is to repair. I have a program (Stomp Registry Repair)

that in theory does this, except it made my PC unbootable, causing me

to do one of my repair sessions. It has a backup feature, but when you

can't boot, it isn't much good. It finds 1829 registry errors. Quite a

daunting task to go through all that.

If it were my computer, I would backup the data I want to
