Hoping someone can suggest something as useful as Musicmatch was before

tun under x64.

Tony,

What features are you missing from musicmatch that you would like to see in

an x64 compatible audio player?

In other words, what do the other players don't give you?

Musicmatch & Yahoo Jukebox don't run under x64 at all (at least not that

I could figure out). I was very happy with Musicmatch Jukebox for years

(until Yahoo took it over).

Tony,

I understand your fidelity to those programs but my question still stands.

What are the features that the current players for Vista x64 are missing and

you would like to find?

Thanks again, Carlos. With the exception of Windows Media Player, which

I don't care for at all, I don't know of any x64 players and if you

think I'm loyal to Yahoo I haven't made myself clear. As far as features

go, MMJB excelled at managing a music library, tagging tracks, looking

up info (via CDDB, IIRC, now crippled by Yahoo), burning CD's (and

printing a label if I wanted), etc. I don't have a laundry list of

features, I'm just looking for something convenient which will run in a

64-bit environment.

Tony,

Check if this freeware alternative

http://www.aimp.ru/index.php?newlang=english

suits you.

I can't speak for Tony, but IMHO MM was the best match of form and

function out there. They had a few hiccups along the way, but their

support was excellent, and the time from bug report to patch was

short.

In terms of features, there hasn't been another product I'm aware of

that had the "Super Tagging" feature - The ability to select multiple

tracks/albums/etc, do a CDDB lookup, and preview the results before

accepting the new tags.

The library export function - the ability to export to multiple

formats, including html and excel, was a great bonus and a feature I

used regularly.

I'm currently muddling along with Winamp and WMP but neither does

everything MMJB did. I hate the whole plug-in thing, understand the

necessity, but hate it nonetheless.

BTW - Freeware projects hosted on domains other than Sourceforge are

suspect to most users.

One of the things I loved about the pre-yahoo MusicMatch was it's ability to

record from the line in input on the sound card. That and the tagging,

library maintenence and other things that have pretty much fallen by the

wayside since Yahoo. Its sorting and listing capabilities were the best I've

ever seen. By the way, my copy works fine under XP-64 bit. I was even able to

get it to work on Vista.
