Guest Rodrigo_live Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I give support to a mixed Windows 2000/2003 network. I have a problem with preview pane and proprieties. The network is consisted by a Windows 2000 Server Domain Controller and a Windows 2003 Standard R2 member server. All clients are XP Pro. Many users use Terminal Services to the Windows 2003 Server if they have to work outside the office from home. The problems I’m having are 2 but really annoying: 1) When you right-clic a folder shared by the domain controller (Windows 2000 Server) and choose “proprieties” the dialog takes like 30 minutes to popup. This only happens when you want to see proprieties from a network share, but locally there’s no issue. 2) This is VERY important: If preview pane is enabled in the explorer windows in the Windows 2003 member server you cannot browse network shares that contains large files (over 1 or 2GB). If you do, maybe nothing happens, but if you enter a folder with large files on it the “explorer.exe” process hangs out and you need to kill it. I’ve settle a policy to disable Preview Pane feature but I want to find the right solution. If you can help, thank you in advanced.
