Trial to Purchase

I've been running the trial download from MS for a few weeks now and would

like to keep it installed permanently. What options do I have? I know it

will run for 120 days, but what happens when I reach that point? I don't

want to continue installing programs and migrating my files if I will need to

format my system and start over.

 

Will I have an option to keep this installed, and if so, would the price be

any different than purchasing from a retailer?

You will have to buy a copy of XP x64. It's only available OEM, not

retail box, one source is "newegg.com". If you purchase the OEM copy before

the trial expires, with XP x64 running insert the XP x64 disk and perform an

update installation using the new product key, that should save all your

settings and programs, but I don't remember about Windows updates. If the

trial is expired a repair installation will have to be performed by booting

from the new XP x64 CD. Have a great day.

Thanks. I purchased the bulk of my hardware from newegg, but didn't order it

at the time because I figured it would be best to test out my apps and

hardware first. I will order the disc since all apears well.
