Guest SPiderman Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I have been reading conflicting info on the max memory for 2000 adv server memory. I know MS mentions that it is 8gb, but then I have found some sql articles that reference it can go up to 16gb. Is there a way to get this to work or am I stuck with upgrading to 2003 or 2000 datacenter? The applicaiton won't work on 2003.....
Guest John John Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Re: 2000 advanced server sp4 memory max with sql 2000 enterprise The SQL version that you are using may be able to use 16GB (or more) of RAM but it will only be able to use it if the hosting server version also supports that much RAM. Windows 2000 Advanced Server supports a maximum of 8GB of RAM, you will not be able to have SQL use more than that with that server version, you will have to use another server version to use more than 8GB of RAM.
