OT - Daylight savings in Argentina

Recommended Posts

This is not specific to Vista x64 but to all MS OS's.

After zillions of years with no Daylight Savings policy in Argentina, our

brand new female president Cristina has decreed that we are going to have a

Daylight Savings policy by a law in our country.

Effective 0 hour of Dec 30 until 0 hour March 16, 2008 the clocks will be

advanced 1 hour meaning that we will be moving from GMT -3 to GMT -2.

Can MS release an update (I have seen updates for other countries lately)

for Argentina?

BTW this clock change is almost meaningless in the place where I live.

Sun comes out at 4:00 AM and goes out close to midnight in summer.

:)

What is it with modern presidents that think buggering about with the

clock is a good idea?

Steve,

I think this is a good move from an energy savings standpoint.

Argentina was not aligned with what most of the civilized world (USA

included) has been doing since many years ago, i.e., change the hour during

summer.

I think the energy savings from "daylight saving" time are largely

illusory these days.

Some would argue that Argentina was the civilised one, for not changing...

The U.S. state of Indiana ignored DST until this year I believe. I would not

be surprised if MS will shortly release the update for Argentina. You may be

preaching to the choir (that is, the already converted) but we unfortunately

have no standing to support you against Sra. Kirchner.
