Guest Marty Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Re: SP4 wont install How? Should I just go to the page and download to the desktop rather then the update site? The download may be corrupt...and if that's the case you will have to download it again. The files should be the same, no matter where you get it on the Microsoft site
Guest Marty Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Re: SP4 wont install How do I check for the kernal switch? I tried downloading from the other windows site and it still wont work... Guest Dave Patrick Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Re: SP4 wont install Try going to Control Panel|System|Advanced|Startup and Recovery I don't remember if Windows 2000 has the option to view boot.ini from here. If not you can; Start|Run|edit C:\boot.ini or just look for it in the root of the system partition and open it with notepad.exe Make sure you have a recovery strategy before editing the operating system. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
