Guest Bill H. Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I'm changing to a different boot disk. I used Ghost to create an image file of the "old" hard drive, and then to put that image onto the new drive. However, I can't log into Win 2k any more on the new drive. I get the logon screen, enter the info, and it just shuts down. If I try safe mode, after trying to log in, I'm taken back to the login screen. What's going on? Thanks. -- Bill

Guest Bill H. Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Re: moving to a new disk It's a SCSI system, so after ghosting, I simply use the scsi bios to change the boot drive. I left the "old" disk connected. Guest Bill H. Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Re: moving to a new disk Interesting. I did disconnect all the other disks. Now it knows me (remembers my logon name) but I get that msg about paging file. I don't know now to fix that issue since there is no domain controller, etc, as mentioned in that article. Now what? Thanks! --Bill ps. You'd think safe mode would still allow windows to start, but no...
