Need to get passed the CTRL+ALT+Delete to start Windows 2000

My cousin brought home a computer from work that was running Windows 2000

(not sure of version). Originally, the "CTRL+ALT+Delete to start.." message

appeared and when name/password were entered, system started without problem;

and yes, there was a domain name shown on the log-in window. As per work's

instructions, she deleed the software (via control panel/remove) that started

the network log-on screen. Now the problem.

After re-starting, the "CTRL+ALT+Delete to start " window has changed and

the domain name area in not shown. The system will not accept the

name/password only and keeps saying to check the domain name. How do I get

passed the CTRL+ALT+Delete log-0n window to try and repair? I have tried

booting to safe mode, but the "press CTRL+ALT+Delete " still appears, with

the same error message.What am I doing wrong? I do not have a great deal of

experience with 2000, but alot with XP, 98, Me, 95 etc.

When you disjoined the machine from the office domain you

broke the trust relationship that existed with the office server.

Your cousin now needs to ask the system administrator at

the office for the password of the local Administrator account.
