I have a W2K server that I am trying to maintain for the next 2 years. I am

considering buying a spare server to cannibalize for parts if I need to. Can

I replace the system board if it fails with my spare without reinstalling

Windows ? What would I need to do ?

Repair installations usually work...but not always...

so it's best to use the same motherboard...

though if a similar board is used...with the same chipset...

that will keep any possible problems to a minimum
