Guest guv Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I have a windows 2000 domain contoller which is also a DNS server. Many clients and other servers you this DC as there DNS. I now want to demote this DC to a normal server but leave the DNS server running. Will the DNS server still run on this server OK and will the other servers and PC still be able to use this servers as a DNS Server.

But this server will not be DC anymore so can it still function as a DNS. WHat will the DNS be, will it function as a AD integrated zone or will it automatically convert to another type zone like primary or secondary.
