Static IP address on Windows 2003

Can anyone tell me why I can't statically assign an IP address to our

Exchange 2007 server running Windows 2003 Std 64bit? I installed Exchange

2007 with DHCP enabled and want

to change it over to static but it won't stick. Is there a simple way of

doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
