Removing Windows 2003 Server on a dual boot ?

I've Windows XP Pro & Windows Server 2003 installed on dual boot system. I

only have one hard disk with partitions. I know that formatting the partition

where Server is installed, is the only way to get rid of it.

 

My question is, do I still have registry values for Win Server 2003 left

behind?

This is incorrect: There is no need to format a disk in order to

get rid of an unwanted Windows installation.

 

A good starting point would be to report in details your current

partition structure and what is installed where.

I have one 250GB hard disk divided into 3 partitions (C, D & E)

C (97.6 GB): contains Windows XP Pro

D (58.5 GB): contains Windows Server 2003

E (76.5 GB): contains data files etc. No OS.

 

All of the above are NTFS.

Fine. Boot into WinXP, then rename d:\Windows to

d:\Windows.Server. Now wait a week. If all is well,

delete d:\Windows.Server. This will be the end of

Windows Server on your machine. Repeat the process

for other folders on drive D: that you're not sure about.

 

You can also delete the unwanted entries from c:\boot.ini.

Can someone help me with a similar situation? In my case, I want to

remove the Windows Xp install which is on the primary partition, and

keep the logical partition ith Windows 2003 Server installed:

 

C: Windows XP (system)

E: Windows 2003 Server

 

Of course, while in Win 2003, it doesn't let me just delete the primary

partition since it has the MBR. Is there any tool to copy over the MBR,

remove the primary (windows XP), and set my logical partition to

primary?
