Hi,

I have a HP workstation that came with winxp pro 32bit.

The software that I am running need x64 win xp pro with I have.

But as my workstation is a HP configured one, there is a hidden partition

(d:) which I cannot access.

I need to in stall the win xp pro x64 into my workstation. But can't seem to

do it. I used partition magic to create a partition. But it failed. Any other

ways to do it?

Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

You have two choices. You can replace your existing 32-bit Windows by

formatting the partition and installing 64-bit. Or you can use a product to

shrink the existing Windows partition, and create a new partition to hold

64-bit Windows. (I would use Acronis for that, but you can use whatever

works for you. )

I also have an HP workstation (xw9300) that came with XP Pro (x32). I

just added a second hard drive (very cheap upgrade these days) and

install x64 on that. It was very easy to do, and it set up the dual

boot automatically.

Good luck! -Pat
