Vista SP1 applied revisited

Here is an interesting information.I I went to Msconfig & disabled

everything in Start-up & in services I disabled everything except Microsoft

services.

Guess what.....it takes a whopping 3 mins & 20 secs to boot timing from when

the desktop first appears. I wish I had did that before installing SP1. Then

I could say SP1 is causing my slow down.Any ideas why my system is taking so

long to boot.It was alot faster in the past.

I think I could boot in under 2 mins before

Carlos any ideas bud.........

Hugh,

Fire up Event Viewer by pressing Windows Key + R, eventvwr.msc and ENTER key.

Check the Windows logs, specially the Application and System ones.

See what is taking so long to start, initiate, load, etc., there.

Especially look for something that isn't starting, or showing problems. The

most common slow downs are DNS time outs, or a service that is not starting.
