Sure...remove the jump drive or any other device that might be using

an USB or Firewire port.

RE: SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE

You probably have a card reader in your PC that uses USB ports.

Unless you uninstall the device, you can't get rid of it but you can hide it.

BTW if you select the icon to safely remove the device and it is a card

reader, you won't be able to use it until you reboot or have the computer

search for new hardware.

Its supposed to be there to allow you to safely stop usb devices before

you disconnect them.

Take it with a grain of salt.

I pull my usb drive out without stopping it with this tool. But some

devices suggest you stop them before removal.

Re: SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE

The reason is one of the following:

1) A USB drive

2) Firewire drive

3) SATA / eSATA drive

These drive can be disconnected while the PC is still running Windows. As a

precaution, you need to tel Windows to complete any / all writes to the drive

and signal it for disconnection.

NOTE: SATA drives are internal drive but they have the possibility of being

disconnected while Windows ix running.
