Guest JoeD Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 When I attempt to shutdown, restart, or access the Program manager for a Ctrl-Alt-Delete, my computer just locks up and I have to remove power to get it going again. What is wrong?
Guest Dave Patrick Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Re: No response to Ctrl-Alt-Delete Does it hour-glass? If so there is some process that is hung and consumes the mem / cpu. Does the clock and or mouse stop? If so there is some hardware and or driver corruption / failure. Try a safe mode boot. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup. Guest George Hester Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Re: No response to Ctrl-Alt-Delete Program Manager term hasn't been used since I think Windows 3.1. But have you tried just doing Cntrl-Alt-Del on the Keyboard? You should get a prompt asking to shut down. I read that if you do that twice fast the machine should just shut down also. -- George Hester _________________________________ "JoeD" <JoeD@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:951067BF-E30D-4922-A107-94701453527A@microsoft.com... > When I attempt to shutdown, restart, or access the Program manager for a > Ctrl-Alt-Delete, my computer just locks up and I have to remove power to get > it going again.
