Re: NVidia nForce Vista x64 drivers

Successfully installed in my MSI K9N Neo-F mobo with nVidia 550 chipset.

I manually created a restore point previously to the installation of the

driver set, just in case but it proved unnecessary (so far).

Re: NVidia nForce Vista x64 drivers

I have seen some reports, on the EVGA forums, where folks ran into trouble

updating , after it installed the old drivers and rebooted, the system

became unusable.

However so far, I think the ones I have seen this happen to have been

running XP , installing of course the XP driver version.

I only fairly recently updated to the 9.64 drivers from EVGA, will probably

hold off a while on this one. I always though, create an image to have on

hand just in case when I update mb drivers...

I wonder what, if any improvements there might be in these?

Don,

There is no changelog yet.

Something I have noticed is that the SATA driver properties has a new

setting added for "automatic acoustic management" of hard drives.

After buying a new computer running Vista 64 bit I found out today that the

reason why I cannot have a 3200X1200 virtual desktop with the task bar across

dual LCD monitors is because Vista does not allow that to happen with nVidia

drivers.

I was expecting an updated drivers with all the nice features plus Spanning.

Here is their their actual response:

Hello Jose,

Thank you for writing back to us.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

I am sorry to say that, the "Span View" feature will not be included in

Windows Vista with the future release of the NVIDIA graphics drivers.

Please feel free to contact us for further questions.

Best Regards,

Phani

RE: NVidia nForce Vista x64 drivers

José,

My post refers to NVidia motherboard chipsets and not the graphic ones.

All that being said, try using Powerstrip

I accomplishes many things that graphic card drivers do not do, though I

can't tell you whether it is going to be useful or not to you in this case.

It is a try-before-you buy shareware, just 1 MB download.

Won't hurt to try.

It has many options, so take your time to go through all of them.

Waiting for your feedback...

Carlos
