Windows Vista SP1 64Bit update

Hi all, hope some one can help out there?

 

Have installed sp1 three times now and each time I cannot start my pc

afterwards

I have to repair via Vista disk (restore) . The screen just goes blank and

there is no H/D activity???

Once restored all is ok, this has happened each time I have tried.

 

AMD 3400+ 2gig ram/raid/asus x800xl/ext h/d usb 500gig/2X lg dvd rw/ 800psu

asus mobo?
