Hi, I've got an LG viewty and was able to connect before using the LG PC software. Now, although it recognises the phone, I'm getting the message 'failed to connect' on the computer and 'failed to connect - conflict' on the phone. I've tried a number of the USB ports on the computer, to the same result. I recently installed a second internal hard drive. -- B Brannigan

Stayed up most of the night, installing Aunties XP Home SP2 OEM PC, and all went swimmingly. ....and I was impressed, particularly with hardware, in that after everything I installed and changed and tweaked, and after every reboot - within two to three seconds of XP Homes' classic theme blue screen "WELCOME" ....WALLOP ! ....desktop and icons were there in a flash. After all this work I decided to Norton Ghost 9 | full backup C:\ onto 2nd hd D:\ ...ready for when Auntie gets her hands on it, (just kidding - she's very good on a PC). Knowing that a PC is bever quite the same after Nortons' been in there - I diligintly made a Restore Point and labelled…

I have heard that you have to have your certificates for MS 2008 TS Server issued from a CA. Obviously if you get them issued by a CA it costs money, but can you also successfully authorize your own Certificates from your own TS Server to distribute to clients?? And isnt that free of charge too??? Where am I going wrong here? Please help, Thanks, Julian

TSGateway without SSL
by Guest Stuart Parker- 1 reply

Hi, I'm setting up TSGateway for my small home office. Is it possible to remove the requirement to use SSL?. I know it's not recommended, but I'm not fussed about the security side for this implementation. Another reason for this is that I have a single public static IP, and am using ISA server. I am already publishing OWA thru SSL, using forms authentication, and cant' have multiple web listeners for port 443 having only a single public IP address. Cheers.

Partitioning drives with XP Pro
by Guest Dan- 6 replies

Running Windows XP Pro SP3. This is the setup.... HD #1 - 40 gig (one partition) Drive C:\ (System) 40 gig HD #2 - 40 gig (three partitions) Drive D:\ (Backup) 3 gig Drive E:\ (Setup Files) 1 gig Drive F:\ (Music) 33 gig Two questions...Is there a way to partition the first drive (with Windows on it)? Secondly, if I use disk management in XP to delete the drive D or E partitions on HD #2, will I lose data in drive F partition? Drive D is the active partition, E is an extended and F is a logical drive...I think! Thanks in advance for any help.

When I query to modem from the control panel, it says: "The port that the modem is using is currently open by another application. Exit any application that may currently be using the port." I don't know what could be causing the problem. I have tried disabling all other needless applications that run in the b…

Folder permission issues
by Guest Ivan- 0 replies

Hi all, I ran into a problem where in my folder structure, I need users to have no write access to the root directory. They need to be able to have read/write access to sub-directories however, and the problem arises when they accidentally move a folder from the root directory into another. They won't be able to move it, because they don't have write access to the root directory, but the contents of the sub directory they've moved have been moved across to the other sub-directory. Is there a way around this? I really need some help. :S Using Windows 2003. Help!

I have a computer that for the most part runs ok. i cannot get into the services window no matter how i try to get there. i always get the "do you want to continue running scripts on this page message" and cannot do anything but end now in task manager which causes the services screen to close. I get this same thing when i try to print an email in outlook express. The scripts error window offers no clues as to what is actually going wrong. I don't know if it is related but, I've also noticed that i can no longer get to the windows update site. Is there anything I can do short of a reinstall of windows xp home? multiple instances of IE on reboot 1 2

I have one workstation on a network, that whenever I go to reboot it, it gives the error dialog that IEXPLORE.EXE needs to close. After clicking on End Now multiple times, if I cancel the reboot, I can see multiple IEXPLORE.EXE in Task Manager, often a dozen or more instances. What would be causing this behavior, and how can I correct it? I've never seen that on any other workstation before. I'm beginning to wonder whether I should just make Firefox the default browser.
