I have IE version 6. I am currently taking courses online. I can log on to the test site successfully, but when I click on the link to begin the test, the information box from Internet Explorer pops up asking me if I want to "allow this page to paste information from my clipboard". I click both no, yes, and exit buttons. I get a flash of the box, nothing else happens; I cannot remove this box from my screen. Subsequently, the page is locked. I have to restart my pc to fix this. Can someone please help me, I need to be able to take these tests from home. I don't know much about computers, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello On a Windows 2003 SP1 R2 machine I get an error message when I try to access the "Removable Storage" MMC snapin in the Computer Managment console. The error is: "Access is denied. This snapin's display may be inconsistent with the Removable Storage Service. If the problem persists prease restart the snapin." I am an administrator. I have restarted the Removeable Storage service I have searched Google and tried the one suggestion I found there. How do I restart a snapin? Have any of you seen this problem? Do you have any suggestions for fixes? Thanks

With some regularity my Internet Explorer page seems to freeze up. It seems to always happen to the first page that's been opened, with any other Internet Explorer pages that are open not being affected. The page will not respond in any way and appear to be just frozen up. To close it I have to open up 'windows task manager'. I also often get a message from windows reporting a fault and asking if I'm happy to post a fault report, which I do. My system is fully up to date. Any suggestion on what problems I might have or how I could do some fault finding to find the problem. Regards....Chris

I have a HP DL320s, currently with 6 * 750GB SATA disks in a single logical drive, raid 6 of 2861491MB Windows 2008 x64 has been installed using a 50GB system partition and the plan was to create a couple of 1TB Volumes with the third volume using the remaining space and to add disk as needed. The server is just a low use basic file server. The Disk in DIsk Management shows as Disc0 Basic with the 50GB parition, layout simple, type basic, ntfs. The problem is the remaining unallocated disk shows as 2 separate sections, one of 1998GB and the other as 746.42GB. Hello, I am looking for a solution to define a "virtual postscript printer". This "virtual postscript printer" woud in fact start a program of my own which will modify the PostScript file and then send the modified file to a real postscript printer. I manage to do so with RedMon 1.7 that I loaded from internet, but wonder if any windows server 2003 integrated solution exist. If anyone could help ? Thanking in advance.

When I boot up WinXP it takes a 'normal' time to get the desk top laid out, and all in place, but then can't do anything for almost 5 minutes until the START menu icon activates. Little hour glass until then. Possibly related, when IE6 logs onto the dial up server, there is a normal sequence of dial, handshake, identify, connect, and then...about 5 minutes longer before the welcome screen comes up [no activity or bytes going back and forth, just hour glass and waiting for ??] I think WinXP has some sequence of applications running that dominates here, but I have no idea how to proceed. IE - HELP! Web pages refuse to fit in the screen Help anyone? When I have any web page open, it will not fit inside the window and I have to scroll not only up and down,which isn't that unusual, but from left to right and it's driving me bonkers! Doing some house cleaning and noticed several old local profiles on my XP system and thought I'd delete them. The Delete button is greyed out in the User Profile GUI for every profile on my system. I ran Process Explorer and noticed that every profile's NTUSER was loaded and wouldn't allow me to close their handles. Hello, I I have an XP Pro system that is a member of a Domain managed by Server 2003 Standard. Apparently before my time it was also a member of an old domain and was setup to sync to the old server. That server no longer exists but during log of the system will try to sync to the old server and fail but syncs to the new server and succeeds. I have searched far and wide on the Internet and have not found a solution. Either it is staring me in the face or I am the first with this problem (am I lucky or what?) Any ideas -- Owen K

If a user has KB951748 installed, their USB printers will no longer connect properly to Terminal Services. Usually not even showing up as an available printer on the server. When they log off their PC will hang for several minutes. After logging off their printer will show on the server as still connected. While they are connected the printer does not show up. restarting the print spooler does clear out the old connections. If they untick printers under resources before doing the RDP connection then they logg off normally with no hang. If KB951748 is uninstalled the problem goes away until autoupdate puts it back in. I have just taken over support of an old W2000 (with SP4) server acting as a terminal server and a license server. Everything has been fine for about 4 or 5 years relating to external clients connecting via terminal services. Well, I had a pc that was infected with that AntiSpyware 2008 virus and after it was removed i noticed that when i checked the display properties the screen saver tab was gone. I could still add desktop background by right-clicking a pic and setting it but is there a way to bring back that tab is the properties settings?

Hello, I've successfully installed SPA 2.0 on a domain controler to troubleshoot Active Directory issues. But, the tool fails to generate the report after data collection. The current report view show the following error message : "This report does not contain useful information due to a bad data collection. Please refer to the help for more information." However, I've found a file named "incomplete_report.xml" in the report directory... There is information neither in the help file, nor in the windows logs. I've used Process Monitor to check for denied access. Everything is fine though. Any Help appreciated. TIA. Olivier MATROT.

Hi, We're running office 2003 sp3 on windows 2003 terminal server. Every couple of weeks our users email signatures disappear and they have to recreate them. Does anybody know of a permanent fix for this? We tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918561 But our servers do not have the registry key. Thanks Paul

Hi there, read an article a couple of weeks ago about an upcoming storage feature pack. Appearantly it would include support for encrypting USB sticks. What I'm really curious about is if it will be compatible with LUKS http://luks.endorphin.org/. Been using LUKS for quite a while under linux and am able to use it under windows using FreeOTFE. Unfortunately, this requires administrator rights, atleast at installation, not sure on usage. As far as I'm concerned, atleast at this moment, LUKS has the best options to make it to a global standard. I have been asked to look at a friend's system. Windows XP, SP3 installed. All of the latest Windows updates (on auto-install) are in there as of the date of this posting. AVG Ver 8 (Grissoft) as AV program, no additional firewall issues that I can detect. Comcast Broadband connection. When using IE7 to connect to Yahoo Mail it does not display the pages correctly, and some pages will not display at all. Unsure if this is a Java, ActiveX, Flash, or some other issue. I was checking some copies of a file that I regularly backup by appending the date and time to the filename. In Windows Explorer, when I now check these backup files (when UK time is GMT + 1 hour daylight saving) the ones that were stored during the winter (when UK time was GMT) have a time that is 1 hour ahead of the time appended onto the filename. Is this the way that Windows works? Is there an option to make Windows Explorer display the time as it appeared to be when the file was created/modified, and if there is, would there be any side effects in using it?

My customer currently runs a small office in workgroup mode with 7 PC's. Her 8 employees remotely RDP to each desktop and work from home. (2 are part time and share a PC). We want to colsolidate the desktops by putting a Windows 2003 Terminal Server on the network. Questions: Can the Terminal Server stay as a member server, and use local user accounts for her employees - or does there have to be a true Active Directory domain controller on the network? Hi I use IE7 and am happy with it ~ up until now have had no problems, however, since a few days ago I have been having problems getting web pages to open ~ I keep getting IE cannot display this page . . . I checked my MS update history tonight and found SP3 had downloaded automatically ` would this be the cause of the problem ? How do I get back to normal ? Do I uninstall SP3 ? This seems to be a very common problem without any clear answers. Windows 2003 Server SP2, stand-alone DC with ActiveDirectory installed and providing DNS services. The machine has a static IP address. When the server reboots (after installing patches through windowsupdate, for example - something that will NEVER be run again on this machine) it gets to the part about "apply computer settings" and then hangs. Sometimes the process bar moves, sometimes it doesn't. The APC issue does not apply here. The Symantec Antivirus issue does not apply. The BackupExec issue does not apply.
