Anyone knows about some key combination that would automatically finish the folder names as you typing them in? I've seen someone doing it but I couldn't get a good look at the key combination he was using.

An Epson TM-T88IIIP printer is connected to my local (client) computer running windows XP. I can print to it using port ESDPRT001 with description LPT1. When I remote using windows remote desktop to my server which is a Dell Poweredge 830 running windows server 2003 R2 64, I cannot print. I have read that any port that does not begin with COM, LPT, or USB are not redirected using remote desktop. Do you have any suggestions for me to be able to print? I do have another printer that uses port DOT4_001 and is a multifunction printer. I can print to this printer when I use remote desktop. Derek

Hi, I have a problem with an user profile: Is there any way to restore it? When I try to log on a warning appears: 'It is impossible to load the user profile' [my error is in Italian]. Hello! I called Lexmark and asked if the X5270 had terminal server compatible drivers for Windows Server 2003. I got a tech who seemed confused when I mentioned terminal server, but he did find a 2003 driver. When pressed to tell me if it was TS-compatible, he hesitated, asked someone else, and then said it was compatible. Due to the nature of the conversation and the hesitancy in his voice, I decided to ask here for real-world experience. So, does anyone know if the drivers for the Lexmark X5270 are really compatible with TS 2003, or perhaps which printer map I can use safely? Several of my software applications have Related Topic buttons. To use an example, the HELP files, at the top of the subject matter will have links for Examples, See Also, etc. The purpose, you click on the related topic button and see additional information. All of my applications that have this feature are NOT showing the Related Topic link. They show a little square box (similar to an html page when a graphic is not there). At first I thought it was the application but when I see many of the applications doing this, I figure it must be the Windows environment causing the problem. Anyone have any idea? -- Thank You, Sam

I am using Windows Server 2003. I really like the recently used programs section of the Start Menu, but I notice that certain Microsoft applications do not appear as they should. My understanding is that as the more an application is used, the higher it appears on the list. I use Microsoft Visual Source Safe and Microsoft Visual Source Safe Administrator quite often, but Administrator keeps dropping off the list. I have even removed items from the bottom of the list until it appears again, but then it disappears the next time I look for it. I am working on a Win XP Pro. I have admin rights and there is a limited profile. On the limited profile desktop there is an icon for a program (program not needed to be mentioned at this time) This program points to and is in the application data folder. I did not install this program. It is not on the admin desktop nor is it in the add/remove or the program files folder. What is the Application data folder and can a limited user install a program? For now I am trying to understand this folder and am looking further into this program.

Re: Regarding Cluster server doubt. Once you wipe your 2000 domain controller you will loose all accounts even when you recreate them with the same names, it will not work. I just burned a copy of a folder containing folders containing image files to a CD using RecordNow. Instead of getting a copy of what's on my C drive, the usual icons have been replaced by the IE icon in all but the thumbnail view. But even there, all the usual folder icons and the image file thumbnails have the IE icon superimposed on them! Yuk!! How do I prevent this? How do I get a copy of what's on my C drive without the IE icon showing up? I have repeated the copy process several times and get the same result. Never had this problem before. G'day all my proxy/internet server (2003 service pack 2) runs a product called Clearswift Mimesweeper that uses NT authentication to validate user data for instigation of rulesets and reporting. We seemm to have a problem with some users the proxy server is using a different DC to the users PC to authenticate and this is then stopping the users from surfing the web when authentication fails. The prtoblem appears to be that the proxy server is using a remote (WAN) DC to Authenticate. Does anyone know how I can force the proxy to authenticate to a particular or is there some software that will work? Thanks

I had to do a new installation of XP, i installed the wireless adapter to pick up my internet (6) and i can see the wireless network, but i noticed that it said 'connected to wireless but cannot find the internet' - (APIPA) given. Released/Renewed IP but would not renew. Disconnected Wireless USB, put back in and it found the internet for one minute then lost it again. Have tried everything with DNS, checked the router settings for MAC filtering etc to no avail. Have not encountered this before. NB It is XP SP1 / IE6, havent been able to install SP2 yet. I need activex to view assignments from school online but I don't have that option in the bar at the top. The only options available relate to pop-ups. On my old hard drive, the option for active x was usually there. I don't remember downloading it or even paying for it. I have a new hard drive now and active x isn't available. I thought about downloading it but I don't trust the sites. Why isn't active x available? Is it something you download? If so, which site do I download it from?

Hello If Windows 2003 Server Domain Controller goes down for any reason: a)What happens to the servers that are attached as child domains and what happens to all of the mappings to drives? b)How do you make all of the child domain controllers that are attached to the domain controller restore their connections and their mappings once the domain controller is brought back up?
