Hello, I have three PCs on my network (let's call them A, B, and C). A can read and change shared folders on C, and B can read and change shared folders on C, but A and B cannot see each other's shared folders. All have very similar setups (XP, with Onecare firewall), and I have rerun the network setup wizard on all three computers. Is there something else that I could try?

I have created a windows service in C# using Visual Studio 2008. This windows service is meant to synchronize the Video Content information that has been uploaded into an SLS (Silverlight Streaming Service) account. In order to get a video's meta information (such as duration etc.) and generate it's thumbnail without downloading it to our server, I am using WPF's MediaPlayer class. The service works fine in Windows Server 2003 32 bit and 64 bit edition. However, it doesn't work in our deployment environment which is Windows Server 2008 64 bit edition. Running XP Pro with SP3 I can log into my Administrator account okay but when I log into my main account name (profile), it seems to be corrupt because it won't save my settings. I've done some reading on this but it seems complicated. I'm worried about copying profiles back n forth. What can I do? Thanks in advance.

I installed a new ts licensing server and like to deactivate the old one. but I have the problem that on the old server I cannot choose the option to Deactivate the Server (it is greyed out). The server is issuing licenses to it is active but I don't understand why I have no options to deactivate it. Does anyone knows a solution? Thanks

Hi, I suddenly seem to have lost use the Alt-w shortcut. It happens (or rather, nothing happens) in office applications and in other windows applications. It is not a keyboard failure; I use a laptop and I have the same problem with the laptop's keyboard and with an external one. Any suggestions? Gabriel

Trying to access a 2008 TS via TS WEB ACCESS, and get the error "ActiceX control not installed or not enabled. The WS is a XP with SP3 installed. Under the IE7 add-ons I don't see the new RDC add-on. and I can't see how to install it, all KB articles say to install SP3, which was already done.

I have a Dell Desktop that I have re intalled XP on. The IDT High Definition Audio CODEC is not working properly and it is saying Error code 10. I have installed the R114566.exe and the intel Audio: IDT* 92XX Driver. Neither of these seem to work. I just want to enable my speakers and I cannot figure it out. Can someone please help! I don't know what other drivers to download or how else to configure my computer. :confused:

Sometimes, when I start up Windows XP, the taskbar changes to the classic Windows 98 style one and then Windows XP crashes. When I restart it says that winlogon.exe encountered an error. I looked up this and found out that I had to run sfc/scannow with the XP disc to make sure no files were modified. This worked but it seems to be a temporary fix because the problem has been happening again. I already found and deleted a duplicate of winlogon so I know there are no dupes involved. Can anyone help me?

I have a Western Digital MyBook. It functioned before a repair installation of Windows XP and functions in other computers. However, when I try to connect it to the USB now after the repair installation, the Plug and Play hardware installation cannot find the generic driver for the drive and it fails to install. There is no driver provided by Western Digital. The tech there sid they use the generic driver provided by Windows. Hi all, I am looking for a very effective anti virus software. The price of the software for me is not an issue. I would like the software to be pretty automated but I am an experienced user so if the interface is not the most friendly but it gets the job done the best then that is ok with me. Something that scans windows very deeply and thoroughly and that can actualy remove what ever it finds is what I'm looking for. I installed X64 in the same partition as XP. DUH... I was told if I have an AMD x2 cpu I needed x64. I can dual boot and found that that I don't need x64. I had my hard drive re-fomatted. Now all my message boxes are too small to show all the contents. These are not internet windows, but information windows like: "Do you want to save the contents of this document before closing?" Placing a mouse pointer on the corner to drag it larger has no effect. Often the last part of the message is hidden with no way to read it.
