I have a USB media player with 500GB hard disc. When I connect it to my computer running XP Pro SP3 it gets restore and recycle folders added to it which I do not want. How can I stop this happenning? regards, Beemer

I was attempting to add pictures as screen savers. I can find no no screen saver tab under display properties. Only themes, appearance, settings. I have windows xp pro. Am I missing something obvious? thanks

My screen display has gone upside down - my daughter was playing on the PC and I suspect hit some key combination. Can anyone tell me how to get the display back the right way up?

Hello! I have a 2000 TS locked down via GPO with only one item left to fix. I cannot figure out how to how to remove the "unplug or eject hardware" icon in the restricted users' system tray for all users other than the domain admin. Anyone know how to do it? Thank you! Gregg Hill

Hi All, I have switched my computer on this morning and when i load my profile or any of my families profile the machine reboots itself after around 10 seconds. It only happens when i load the profiles. I have attempted to start the machine in Safemode to attempt to complete a virus scan but i cannot seem to find the virus software when in Safemode. I suspect that a virus is causing this but dont know which or how to remove. I have a P4, XP-SP2 machine. Can anyone offer any advise as to what might be causing this problem. I get 2 popup windows at startup that says "Error Loading C:\WINNT \system32\ccdnlehw.dll". There is no registry listing of this file. What is trying to load this .dll so I can kill it? Any ideas?

RE: Language bar This site is new to me. Please excuse, if I am not following protocol. My problem is a different language problem. When I try to install software from a CD, most of the time, it will prompt me in Russian. I have set all of my settings to English, that I could find. How can I fix this? Please advise, Bob Sullivan

Occasionally, my computer will not go into hibernation and when I return there are many small windows titled "mformat" with an error message about access violation. Normally they can be closed out but occasionally I have to reboot to get rid of them. The computer seems to function okay otherwise. I have an XP PRO operating system.

I get "Outlook blocked access to the following potential unsafe attachment: Halloween.exe". I know this file is safe I made it myself. How do I get Outlook 2007 to open my file? Thanks for any help. -- Kate Galway

Lately, I've noticed two weird things regarding my Quick Launch toolbar. I'm using XP Pro SP3. 1. Sometimes the icons are visible but clicking on them produces no action. I have to go to the Start>Programs menu and launch the program from there. Rebooting solves that problem. 2. Most annoying problem now: icons completely disappear from Quick Launch. Hovering over the Quick Launch bar, however, shows the shadow of an icon and a tooltip stating what it's for but clicking on it does nothing. This is quite annoying. Again, a restart of my computer fixes this too. Are these known issues, and if so, how can I fix them, please?

Hii, im newbie and i need help with ras im using windows 2003 server as server ras (10.10.10.1, 10.10.3.1) and dhcp (10.10.10.105 - 108 ) XP sp3 as client (10.10.3.5) When i connect to ras (10.10.3.1 ) first 20 seconds it did give me 10.10.10.105 but after that i get 169.x.x.x ( local host). And in the first 20 second i can ping to others with this subnets and can go to internet, after that i cant do anything beside pinging my self ? any idea would be a great help. I was required to purchase the genuine advantage kit last year. I am getting a completely new PC bulit. Can I use this Genuine Kit to install Windows XP on the new computer. I am have vista home edition on my computer and built in microphone, until recently my friend (in USA) and myself (in Australia) could have clear conversations. Recently after about 10 minutes into the conversation at the USA end which is a computer with XP, he gets an unbearable loud static noise, necessitating him to have to turn his speakers down, whilst he can still talk and I get a reasonably clear conversation from him, I have taken up to typing my response due to the static. Hi I have just installed the XP SP3. My Remote desktop has stopped working. Whenever i try to connect to the remote computer i get a windows error window stating that "Send error to Microsoft" on Don not send. Has any one else experience this issue? Any idea to resolve this issue. Thanks

I have always used the 'Adminiustrator' account since I bought my laptop. I created a new account 'mohd' few days ago with administrative rights. The 'Administrator' Login has now disappeared off the desktop and I cannot log into it to use my set desktop, browser with favourites and passwords etc. I do not know how to restore the Administrator login back onto the desktop so that there will be an option of the 2 accounts to log in by switching users. I recently tried to install an officejet g85 'all in one' printer on my laptop that has windows xp. - setup was completed. Then tried to install it on another laptop that has vista on it. Seemed to install ok but, couldn't get it to print. Uninstalled using the 'remove programs' option. This appeared to work. Then I tried to re-install but a message came up saying that it was already installed and that I'd have to use the un-install program to delete it. Checked and it was removed. Can't seem to figure out why I'm getting this message. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks Des --

Hi, I can't access games or wordpad--starts browsing and can't find file. Tried to add windows components by using disc, but still can't access games & wordpad. Can anyone help with this? Should I just re-install the whole program and if I do that will I lose anything? Thanks! s

You see it all the time: "Make sure to update your display drivers to the latest version." So, I did. I have an ASUS (ATI Radeon) HD3850 PCIe display card. I did exactly what it said to do: Go to 'Add or Remove Programs' and click on the "ATI Software Removal Utility" then follow the prompts, restart the system and install the new (latest) drivers. However, when I restarted, I got the Windows starting screen (with the moving bar) and that's it! At the point where I should be looking at the "Welcome" screen - I'm instead looking at a black screen. As though the monitor is turned off. (It isn't, though; the light is green.)
