XP SP3 Recently I got my motherboard faulty and replaced with another new motherboard. What would happen when I reboot the XP and what should I do to re-use my original harddisk with this XP SP3?

Hello, I am having problems installing my USB2.0 PC Camera on my Vista x64 Ultimate. Apparently there are no 64-bit Vista drivers available, only Vista 32, so my question is if it is by any means possible to install the 32-bit driver as my understanding is that Vista x64 should still be able to run 32-bit software? The Vista 32-bit driver installs fully when I run it, with a note that the driver cannot be verified, but when I plug the cam in the system cannot recognise cam. Another option would be to try and run the XP driver in XP compatibility mode, would that be possible? And finally, is there a generic webcam 64-bit driver I could try installing? Thx!

I just deployed my first Server 2008 box in our internal environment for testing. We do nearly all management via remote desktop. One of our corporate security policies is to NOT show the last logged on user, to prevent information disclosure of our admin usernames. We use a GPO in our domain to control the "Interactive logon: Do not display last username" setting to set it to ENABLED for all servers. This works on all Server 2003 boxes flawlessly. how can i add more computers to domain/

I'm reconstructing my present 5 year old machine after a c-drive failure. I'm considering going to Vista rather than building a new machine with XP on it. I have a few concerns about this. I've been told that if I go Vista with a store bought machine, it is unlikely flushing the drive and installing XP will work. The machine I'm looking at as a replacement is an HP quad core with 6G of memory. I'm pretty sure that's a 64-bit machine. Should I be concerned about some of my older programs that were running a 5 year old ASUS MB? Office 97 and some non-MS apps.

It's a PDF printer on another PC on the network. Had no problems when doing same in W2003. So I click on 'add printer'; a search is done for printers and it is there; I select it; then get a message "The server for the 'XYZ' printer does not have the correct printer driver installed.". I click OK on the next screen and it will only show INF files. There are no INF files for this printer anywhere. -- Regards Tom

Can someone explain to me (in pursuing my earlier 'user name assigned to new profile' problem) how it is that some profiles are clearly present, showing up in MyComputer/Properties/Advanced, and opening with ctrl alt delete, but they do not show up in (XPHome) in Control Panel User accounts, run: control Userpasswords, or Userpasswords2? This is all rather puzzling. I know I can arrange not to show a profile on the welcome screen, but do not see how it can disappear from Control panel and userpasswords. Explanation much appreciated. One of my computers on a 25 computer network refuses to open any attachments that have the icon of the small yellow envelope, the file inside that i am trying to open in an Adobe file. I have tried to open it using Adobe, and saving it and opening as Outlook Item through Outlook. Does any have any info regarding attachments not opening when the icon is the little envelope???

My PC froze when I tried to watch a DVD. I ran dxdiag and it also froze the PC. So I started to check things. I ran two free CPU testers (BURNMAX and CPUSTABTEST). They run for 5-10 minutes and both give the same Blue Screen Of Death: STOP 0x00000001A MEMORY MANAGEMENT does this suggest some hardware is on the way out?
