I was required to purchase the genuine advantage kit last year. I am getting a completely new PC bulit. Can I use this Genuine Kit to install Windows XP on the new computer. Or, do I need to spend another $150 bucks? For the third time? for essentially the same WIN XP PRO.? ie7 doesn't display (all) charts , firefox indeed does. Yahoo finance charts display in ie7, but charts from other site don't? Thanks for your advice Fernand

I am have vista home edition on my computer and built in microphone, until recently my friend (in USA) and myself (in Australia) could have clear conversations. Recently after about 10 minutes into the conversation at the USA end which is a computer with XP, he gets an unbearable loud static noise, necessitating him to have to turn his speakers down, whilst he can still talk and I get a reasonably clear conversation from him, I have taken up to typing my response due to the static. If we terminate the conversation and I ask him for a new conversation, the static remains...occasionally we can get a few minutes static free the second time....what could be …

Hi I have just installed the XP SP3. My Remote desktop has stopped working. Whenever i try to connect to the remote computer i get a windows error window stating that "Send error to Microsoft" on Don not send. Has any one else experience this issue? Any idea to resolve this issue. Thanks

I have always used the 'Adminiustrator' account since I bought my laptop. I created a new account 'mohd' few days ago with administrative rights. The 'Administrator' Login has now disappeared off the desktop and I cannot log into it to use my set desktop, browser with favourites and passwords etc. I do not know how to restore the Administrator login back onto the desktop so that there will be an option of the 2 accounts to log in by switching users. I recently tried to install an officejet g85 'all in one' printer on my laptop that has windows xp. - setup was completed. Then tried to install it on another laptop that has vista on it. Seemed to install ok but, couldn't get it to print. Uninstalled using the 'remove programs' option. This appeared to work. Then I tried to re-install but a message came up saying that it was already installed and that I'd have to use the un-install program to delete it. Checked and it was removed. Can't seem to figure out why I'm getting this message. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks Des --

Hi, I can't access games or wordpad--starts browsing and can't find file. Tried to add windows components by using disc, but still can't access games & wordpad. Can anyone help with this? Should I just re-install the whole program and if I do that will I lose anything? Thanks! s

You see it all the time: "Make sure to update your display drivers to the latest version." So, I did. I have an ASUS (ATI Radeon) HD3850 PCIe display card. I did exactly what it said to do: Go to 'Add or Remove Programs' and click on the "ATI Software Removal Utility" then follow the prompts, restart the system and install the new (latest) drivers. However, when I restarted, I got the Windows starting screen (with the moving bar) and that's it! At the point where I should be looking at the "Welcome" screen - I'm instead looking at a black screen. As though the monitor is turned off. (It isn't, though; the light is green.) Just added a new administrator to the domain admins group. Unlike the rest of us, she can't get a remote desktop on our DCs (although she can on our member servers). When she tries to connect, she gets this error window: "To log on to this remote computer, you must have Terminal Server User Access permissions on this computer. By default, members of the Remote Desktop Users group have these permissions. If you are not a member of the Remote Desktop Users group or another group that has these permissions, or if the Remote Desktop User group does not have these permissions, you must be granted these permissions manually." Can anyone help me? Now and again after logging on the active screen deactivates after about 30 seconds, click the screen it is reactivated but then deactivates again, This will carry on indefinably until I either reboot or; as I found out by accident that if I went to System Restore but just clicked the cancel button the active screen would then behave normally. I have a Dell desktop,XPST-450 that I don't use. It filled up, and I bought a new Vista and I use that.. I want to backup all of the data from Windows 98 on the old machine to a 1 tb external hd with a usb port. I think this can be done with an IMAGE for Windows by Terabyte. Then I can delete/uninstall the original data from the Windows 98 machine and take it to my place in Florida and use it there for the Winter, and leave it there, instead of transporting my new Vista Machine back and forth. The problem is that if I want to restore any part of the Image backup to the 98se machine, I don't believe it can be done with the Windows Image according to the …
