How can I save a Google satellite map image
by Guest Walter R.- 3 replies

Sorry, if this is OT. Kindly refer me. I looked up an address in Google (not Google Earth). Showed a real nice close-up of my house. I tried to copy the satellite map image to My Pictures. Did not work. If I send it by e-mail, it disappears. If I right-click the map, there is no provision for saving the image. Is there a special trick to it? Thanks -- Walter http://www.rationality.net -

by Guest TheSlaz- 31 replies

Just removed a virus from my son's computer. Went to restore the computer from a good clean point and I noticed that all the System Restore points are named "Virus Alert: Software Distribution service 3:00 A.M." Concerned about the "Virus Alert" part of the description. Can I safely restore; or is this telling me that there is a virus in the restore point?

Hi: I updated Sysinternals Process Monitor to Version 2.0 and now every time that I open Process Monitor 2.0 I get the following warning: "The version of Dbghelp.dll configures does not support the Microsoft Symbol Server. Please download and install the Microsoft Tools for Windows to get a version that does". I have downloaded and installed the WinDbg, but I have no clue as to what to do next. I also installed all the Symbols in the C\windows\symbols folder. Thanks for any help.

I keep getting this error message every day: -------------------------------------- Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error!! Program: C\Programm Files\VERITAS Software\Update Manager\sgtray.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. ------------------------------------------- I've figured out that this file relates to the "Check for updates" function of the Record Now software that came with my PC. I get the error if I invoke that function, when I click on the sgtray.exe file in Windows Explorer, in addition to its coming up on its own …

XP User accounts
by Guest RJK- 2 replies

What a mystery XP user accounts - credentials etc. ! On a XP Home PC that has only ever had 1 administrator a/c ....I tried making a limited account, and as soon as looging into it - there were lots of shortcuts to programs that I don't want the limited use to play around with e.g. AVG 8.0 ....and I was unable to delete it / them from the limited users desktop. How do you control / add / remove program shortcuts from the limited users desktop ? Also, IE7 reported several HP faults e.g HP web-page printing errors or something like that. I don't need to prevent the limited user from using IE7 - however, why is installed HP software / IE plugins…

Re-enable 'Recent Files" Lists in all programs
by Guest Cornish-writer- 2 replies

One of my super-security programs set something in my Registry or in an .INI file so that none of my programs have the ability to display their "Recent Files" lists from the "File" menu. The option for displaying or not displaying the list is grayed out in programs such as Word, Excel, etc. This means it's been disabled at the System level. I want to see my recently opened files in all my programs. Can anyone help?
