Scenario Server: Windows 2003 SBS Standard (DC) Server: Windows 2003 Standard R2 - Terminal Server Goal: I need to implement the terminal server for our remote sales staff. We recently did a big push on our accounting software - which requires the workstations to have amounts of RAM and atleast 2.0ghz. i have an application that i would like to run but i was told i need to several things to make it run. i will try to keep this as simple as possible... -- i have windows service pack 3 installed. -- i tried to install .NET Framework 2.0 but it says i need the Windows Installer 3.0. -- i try to install Windows Installer 3.0 but it says i have Service Pack 3 and i dont need to install it. what can i do??

Hi, I had a typo when setting up users in XP Pro SP3 and now the one user name in Documents & Settings is incorrect. I changed the username in Control Panels/Users and also using Regedit to change it under HLM/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion. This all went fine but the user name on the Folder is D&S is still incorrect. Logon at startup is correct. Any ideas on where/how I can change this last remnant of my mistake would be appreciated. I currently am running Vista on a laptop, but am having compatibility issues, and am generally not a fan of Vista. My questions are: 1. Am I able to install XP to replace Vista? If so, am I able to use a XP Upgrade disk (as this is essentially a downgrade!) or do I need the full version to change the OS. 2. I currently have a XP Upgrade disk which I used on an old desktop, which has since broken down (CPU is fried)--would I be able to use this disk again (assuming the answer to question 1 is yes)?

Iim new to windows PC's and am unable to find a place on the MS website where I can get product info prior to purchasing. Any assist on a contact would be appreciated. I am contemplating the purchase of a new PC. The one I am interested in comes with Vista Home Premium; However, I need XP Pro. I wish to know: if I can replace Vista Home Premium with XP Pro, can I do so by simply purchasing a new copy of XP Pro and installing it over Vista. Will MS register the XP Pro OS on my new computer. If not, it looks like I will be limited to purchasing a used machine with XP Pro pre-installed on eBay.

I bought An OEM version of XP (sp2c) at a local electonics store. I want to install it on a laptop. If I ever replace this laptop, and want to install it on my next laptop, will I be able to get it activated? I know I would at least have to call MS's 800 number. I've done that before when I've moved XP &/or Office from one PC to another. But will this OEM version be treated any differently?

XP SP3 Recently I got my motherboard faulty and replaced with another new motherboard. What would happen when I reboot the XP and what should I do to re-use my original harddisk with this XP SP3?

Hello, I am having problems installing my USB2.0 PC Camera on my Vista x64 Ultimate. Apparently there are no 64-bit Vista drivers available, only Vista 32, so my question is if it is by any means possible to install the 32-bit driver as my understanding is that Vista x64 should still be able to run 32-bit software? The Vista 32-bit driver installs fully when I run it, with a note that the driver cannot be verified, but when I plug the cam in the system cannot recognise cam. Another option would be to try and run the XP driver in XP compatibility mode, would that be possible? And finally, is there a generic webcam 64-bit driver I could try installing? Thx!
