Hello, Many program files such as EXEs, DLLs, OCXs etc. have embeded digital certificate viewable from their file property dialog. I know that when a file's certificate is no longer valid (not expired), it means that it somehow has been modified. Correct me if I'm wrong. But any programmer that know how to properly embed a certificate can use fake names in the certificate (e.g. Symantec, Google, Microsoft, etc.) or look-alike names since anyone can make their own valid certificate. So my question is, how do I know if a certificate really does come from the intended source? What can I do to check the trustability of a digital certificate? Here's an example…

I clicked on something and now all my desktop icons have moved to the right. When I open a WP program in the full view, the top task bar cannot be seen. I either have to work in a small screen view or do without the task bar. How do I return?

I am running Windows XP SP3 and have reached a stage where Windows won't load at all, I get the following message:- Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt C\Windows\system32\config\System It then goes on to say use the CD Rom, but like most people, I don't have it, my PC came with XP preinstalled. Can anyone advise how to resolve this issue. I can't get it to boot in safe mode or anything else. I have tried various back-up CD's that I have prepared for such an emergency but they don't work either. Can I get a copy of the installation CD anywhere or download it and burn it to CD? Re: Over 4 million highjacked PC's My little broadband icon in the system tray sometimes sometimes lights up with activity even though I'm not on-line - my wireless router is always on with my PC by the way. Hello, Got a strange issue: The company where I work had no consistent naming scheme before I got here, so as part of a hardware audit I'm also renaming all of the PCs. There are a few machines who refuse to be renamed either locally, or remotely through netdom.
