Passwoods no longer saved
by Guest eht_remmir- 1 reply

I use Firefox mostly but sometimes IE if needed. I've told both of these to save passwords. A short time ago no IDs and passwords were saved for any site, even those that always recalled them. The settings are still "save passwords." Does anybody have any idea why this is happening. I think this happened when I installed XP SP3. Thanks in advance, Alan

1 TB Drive Copying Problem
by Guest Tom- 3 replies
XP Pro SP3 Just installed a Western Digital 1 TB Drive, removed the FAT 32 partition with Disk Mgt and installed a new partition formatted to NTFS. When I try to copy files from my older External USB 2.0 drive to this new External 2.0 drive, the copying function stops after a short while and the computer hangs without finishing the copy operation. I have to reset the computer. Are they are issues with copying large files or multiple files in XP? Are there any large drive issues with XP? Some if my drive image files are 30 GB in size. TIA -- Tom

Q1: what's the limit of kernel memory for 32 bit windows? I thought it's 2 GB (virtual memory space) but one of our vendor support said it's 128 MB. Q2: what's the limit for 64 bit OS? any articles or reference will be good. Thanks.

I get this when I stop a usb device using the Sefely Remove Hardware Icon. "An exception occurred while trying to run Shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" The device seems to be shut down but running the command Shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll, and then trying to do anything in the pop-up generates the error every time. Any ideas what to check -- what reg key or file might be the prob?

Re: XP KEY Will not work You think you might be able to help me? I have a tablet pc with a product key, but I have a retail version of the software. This is a gateway pc. I have no restore disks and the original hard drive was damaged and had to be replaced. Gateway does not offer restore cd's for this and only have the retail one (like I have) to send to me (that does not even have the sata drivers to where I can even install windows on the computer). I know how to change the PID # inside the setupp.ini file, but not sure what it needs to be. Between trying to get the installation to recognize the hard drive and trying to figure out what the pid value …

The machine is running Windows XP Pro SP3. Installed a few days ago, drivers are all installed, updates are all installed. Lots of programs are already installed, from Dynamic GP to Gtalk to Microsoft Office. When I go into Add or Remove programs it says please wait while this list populates; It, however, regadrless of time open, never brings anything up. If I close it and attempt to open again, add or remove programs will not open unless I restart. I can doube click, and right click - run and I dont get any change. Things I have checked. I went to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall in the registery and checked to see permissions and i…
