First time I've ever needed this, but I'd like to find a way for my Mac (desktop, iPad, or iPhone) to read a long PDF out loud to me (while I'm driving, sitting in my sauna, before I go to bed, etc). I’m totally new to Macs and MacOS. I find it strange that it wastes power by not really ever shutting down (any touch of a key or bending or the lid will wake the laptop). So I decided to instead of always shutting it down like my old windows laptop, I will just sleep it. So does closing the lid make the laptop sleep automatically? Or it’s still awake and I have to sleep it manually before closing the lid? I installed wine from this link, Releases · Gcenx/macOS_Wine_builds, in an effort to install a .msi file, but it didn’t work. The situation: I ordered a new keyboard, Mountain Everest Max, which has software to customize it and whatnot, but it’s only supported on windows. I know I can utilize a VM, or parallels, but with those methods I don’t believe I will be able to set up the macro keys to launch apps on my Mac book. Hi. I want to buy an iMac (currently using a MacBook Air which I’ll keep) to play the sims 4 (lol), do web browsing, and use Microsoft applications. I do a lot of reports for my job but won’t need anything fancy like photoshop. A new iMac where I am is $2.8k (Australia) but I’ve seen people listing their 2021 iMacs for about $1k. It’s a substantial drop in price but I’m wondering if it’s alright to buy one that’s 3 years old, or if it’s worth it to save and get a newer one. I'm planning to buy MBA for university and everything is great besides one thing. I play games that don't require so much system requirements like Stardew Valley, Atomicrops, DST and Enter the Gungeon. I think only Stardew Valley's steam page has MacOS option. What are your experience towards these games especially? Will the gpu overheat and other components take damage? Thanks for all of your answers! My partner has had issues with her iMessage cloud storage for a while and it’s starting to get a bit inconvenient. She has a load of old messages on her iCloud and they just aren’t syncing properly with all of her new messages. She just got a new MacBook and wants to make sure her ecosystem is working properly and syncing right. She wants to just start it fresh with the messages she currently has on her iPhone and make sure that everything is synced. I wanted to play that chrome dinosaur game, and I remembered a site with games like that called eloog, so I put eloog (dot) com into my search bar and it took me to NOT THE RIGHT SITE and gave me a iOS popup saying my iPhone's been infected. It had the standard "ok" button at the bottom of it. I wanted to close the tab so I hit ok hurriedly to unlock the screen and before I closed the tab I saw the website looked like Safari (I use Brave, not safari). That makes me think it's nothing since I didn't hit any other buttons but after searching the web I'm seeing people saying that just hitting "ok" CAN infect your device. I've maxed out my iCloud storage and don't want to pay $10 a month for more. Are there any other cloud storage services where I can select heavy files and just move them? I want to move them off of my computer and iPhone. The thing that is confusing me is that most of the services sync the devices whereas what I want to do is move the heavy files off my devices. About a year ago, my dad gave me his old Ipad Air 2. I logged him out, signed into my account, downloaded a few apps, and didn't use it until just now. I looked at the storage and realized his old messages and media were still on it, bloating the storage space.
