I'm doing a clean re-install XPpro SP2 but set-up says my prod key is invalid. I have the cd and prod key sticker but no luck. Obviously XP was valid just a couple of days ago. HP workstation xw8000

I got a message at login that the was now available so I downloaded, forgetting that I already had the automatic update scheduler. Now when I boot up, I get 2 message boxes. The first one reads: The procedure entry point apsSearchInterface could not be located in the dynamic link library wlanapi.dll. The second one reads the same, substituting apsGetReady for apsSearchInterface. I don't know what this means, nor how to fix it. I would greatly appreciate any help offered. Thank you.

We have some services that lose login information periodically and if we have to restart these services, we have to go into services control panel and re-enter the login information. Anyone has any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it? Thanks.

my computer recently installed the windows service pack 3 and since then i have lost my address box on the toolbar at the bottom of my screen. does anyone know how i can get it back ? i right click on the toolbar and it is not even in the options to add????help! -- niki

I have a server that loves to shut down unexpectedly, What are my options for trouble shooting this the shutdown log folder is empty and my event viewer only says that my server had an unexpected shutdown Tools, Logs, Debug I can set up? Spam me with helpful ideas:) Cheers

Hi everybody, I am trying to set up a scheduled backup. I will use wbadmin and not the graphical interface, because the interface does not allow to backup to remote servers. I have created a command like this: wbadmin start backup -backupTarget:\\SLH\BackupWin\YODA\Montag\ -include:c:,d: -noverify -user:Administrator -password:mypw -vssFull -quiet Now, it would be nice to replace the part '\Montag\' with every day of the week. Is there a function to do such replacement like %DAYOFWEEK% or something similar? Where can I find documentation about such functions? Thanks for your time Ole

Hi One PC has stopped playing mpeg video, it only plays sound. Media Player 9 says 'getting codec' then says 'codec download failed' and then starts playing audio. Upgraded to WM 11, still only audio. QT also does not work. I tried playing on another PC and it worked, did not check the WM version, whatever comes with Win XP on a new Dell PC. What is the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks Regards

OK, I have a sched. task in Windows Server 2008 64 Bit RTM Enterprise, that fires (sorry, I mean sexy new term "Triggers") on second Thursday of every month, then repeats every hour. However, although I ask it to stop after 6 hours,it keeps going & going up to 8 hours now and counting!!!!!! I am seeing posts on this in Vista groups also (no surprises there - same kernel). I take care of tech issues with my wife's computer as well as my own, and generally do her updates, defrag, etc. on Fridays. Her computer is a Dell, nine months old, has always operated flawlessly, and is fully updated. I booted her machine this morning, left the room and returned five minutes later to find the hourglass still up (desktop looked normal). I moved the mouse arrow over to a small text file on the desktop and experimentally double-clicked on it - it didn't open, and then I got one short "beep".
