TS and Flash Player
by Guest Mike B.- 2 replies

I have a user who is trying to view embedded flash player images on a website while logged into a TS session. The server is a Windows 2003 server with about 15 users logging on. If I give this user admin rights, he can view the web page without any issues. Once he loses those rights, the web page will not show the page correctly. The Terminal server has IE7 installed and the page he is trying to get to is wcbsfm.com. Thanks.

TS client print to local usb printer
by Guest mwagener- 1 reply

Windows server 2003 x64 running TS for user app. Users are able to establish session and print if they are printing to a network printer. Users cannot print if they have a local printer connected usb. The driver is loaded on the server, but what port should it direct to? Currently DOT4. When users print, the jobs stack up on that printer on the server and do not redirect back to the user.

Laptop low memory report.
by Guest Terry- 11 replies

I only use my laptop for web surfing. I also keep F Secure anti virus software on it. The trouble is that F Secure has bloated to need 256k memory. Every time I use the machine, after a while, I will get a report that Windoze is using virtual memory. I can live with this, I would just like the daily warning to go away. Can this warning be disabled? Thanks for your time.

Running Windows 2003 SBS, now certain apps won't launch: 1) Any administrative tools 2) Event viewer 3) Services viewer 4) ISA Management Any ideas why this is happening? Done a full cold reboot and problem persists. Other apps like Veritas Backup and Enterprise Manager work fine.

98SE and XP Professional Stability
by Guest Dan- 14 replies

I thank PCR and my friend Jeff for all of their help in getting me back on firm ground again with a clean install of 98SE and an over-install of XP Professional. The surprising thing was that at the end XP Professional was becoming more unstable than 98SE. Yes, XP Professional had the dreaded BSOD (Blue Screens of Death) that were related to sound driver issues and 98SE also had the sound driver issues from the Sound Blaster Audigy. Jeff reminded me of a simple fact that I had completely forgotten about being away from this newsgroup for so long. The fact about getting rid of everything related to all the extra junk programs with the Sound Blaster Audi…

FTP Connection Refused By Remote Host
by Guest razor- 5 replies

Hello-- We are in the process of migrating our IIS server from W2K3 to W2K3 64-bit and we cannot figure out why we can no longer ftp into the new IIS server from within the same subnet? the FTP service is started, and the FTP Sites is started in IIS. From a command prompt, if I enter in "ftp <server IP address>" we get a messages that says connection refused by remote host. If we try to use an FTP program, the connection just fails. I used the 'netstat -an' command on the IIS server and it shows port 21 is listening. Any help would really be appreciated.

Application load balancing & failover
by Guest Calen Slezash- 2 replies

Hello group: I would like to find out what it would take in order to load balance applications on a Windows 2003 Server Ent. Edition/SQL Server 2000 server farm. I recall that this was not possible a couple of years ago, unless one looked at a Citrix solution. I would like users' applications to fail-over to either node in the event that they lose connection to one of the nodes. Another issue is the creation of new user profiles. Currently I am manually setting up a profile twice (once on each server node). I would like to find out if there is a way to create a profile once and have it replicate to all nodes in the farm. Any help or ideas would be m…

Computer Having Trouble Booting
by Guest Bob L.- 6 replies

I am using a Promise Ultra 100TX2 PCI card. I have two W.D. 250gb hard drives (Master & Slave) on the Ultra's IDE 0 port running XP Pro SP2. For the past two weeks I am having trouble booting my computer. When I boot the master drive I get an error (cannot read boot disk). This also happens when I hibernate and then later start the computer. I get the same error and it asks me to delete Restoration Data & restart. The only way I can start the computer at this point is to use a boot disk and boot an operating system on the slave drive. After I start the slave drive, I can then restart the computer and it will read the boot options on the computer’s…
