Removing Windows Media Player from a Server
by Guest Gis Bun- 2 replies

As it's not (hopefully) required, how do I completely remove Removing Windows Media Player from a Server from a server installation? It's not in the Add/Remove Components? [And why is WMP installed anyway on a server? It shouldn't be required and it has had almost as much security issues as IE!] Thanks Gis

Not enough space to install XP! Cant format
by Guest Calomax- 5 replies

I have a 280GB and a 110GB hard drive. XP was on the 330 and I had to reinstall it. I decided to install it on the 110 disk and got a message that I had to create a minimum 8GB partition so I chose 8GB. The installation went fine but I have a bit more trouble and want to do a clean reinstall. When I try I'm told there isn't enough space in the boot partition and am given no choice to install on the other partition or disk. Setup just closes down. Does anyone know how I can either make more room on the boot partition or install XP somewhere else then remove the existing installation please?

Hello. In using Windows XP Pro SP2, I am printing on a network printer. I remember in the past that the printer icon would appear in the taskbar notification area when I had a print job queued. It no longer seems to appear there any longer. Is there some setting I can change in Windows to get the printer icon to appear again when I have print jobs queued? Thanks, Mike

by Guest JW- 1 reply

Anyone know how to correct this error message: "Incorrect MFC Dll versions installed on the system, minimum requirement is MFC SP4 Dlls." Message comes up shortly after boot up of Windows XP when Broadcom wireless network adapter is trying to make a connection to the nearest WAP. The result: NO WIRELESS CONNECTION MADE. Clicking on "OK" simply causes the message to disappear briefly and then reappear. The only recent changes to my system were automatic security patch updates of Windows XP ... KB936021, KB938828, KB921503, KB938829, KB938127, KB937143. One of these updates appears to prohibit Broadcom Wireless adapters from working properly. The …

Disk space Low
by Guest Lance- 9 replies

I keep getting this low disk space message. The C: drive is 34.Gig and is almost full. So I installed another hard drive F: which is 298Gig. I transfered over a number of data files, Pictures, documents videos ect and solved the problem temporarily. All my program files are still on C:/ . I run disk clean up when I get the low disk space message which solves it, but the problem keeps coming back. There's 285gig available on F:/, There's probably a simple answer... right?

Lectori Salutem, Let me explain about the troubles I have with my laptop (asus, dual boot in win XP sp 2 and kubuntu) and all the mess that goes with it. 1. The windows bluetooth software expired a few months ago. I never paid much attention to this, since I wasn't in the ability to use my bluetooth connection anyway. 2. two days ago, my father bought a bluetooth equipped telephone, in order to try to connect to his telephone using bluetooth, I found that I didn't have any windows xp software on my laptop to use with it, and I had trouble finding the standard software from windows update (see later on). In order to find out if my bluetooth connection exsis…
