by Guest Divine_si- 4 replies

I recently found the file YIH0L80A.EXE running in my task list. On a couple of occasions I've found 3 or 4 instances of it running, but I can't find any information as to what the file is or what it is associated with. A search of my hard drive only found the file in the c:\windows\prefetch directory, but I can't find were the actual file is located. Any help/suggestions?

by Guest LouG86- 2 replies

When I try to install a printer i get the following error message "operation could not be completed". When i go to file and check server properties i get the following error message "Server properties cannot be viewed. The print spooler service is not running". I've tried a few things such as cleaning up the printer drivers but it hasn't helped. After reading advice on here I went to Start, Run and typed in Services.MSC and checked the Spooler Service. The status is stopped. But when i try and start it i get the following error message "Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified" This is very frustrating...does anyone know how i can fix t…

by Guest dubbleu_b- 1 reply

Really hoping someone has a solution... I am running Windows XP Professional SP2. I am the only user of my computer and my account was set up with administrator rights. I had a trojan which is now cleared. But the virus changed something in my registry so that I am now locked out of any administrator functions - both in my user account AND under the default Administrator account, even in safe mode. I cannot access my control panel through the start menu or through start -Run: control.exe, cannot right click on my computer to get properties, cannot create new user accounts, etc. I always get a message that the operation has been canceled due to restric…

Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I did not find a Vista group. Anyway I have Windows Vista with a modem that dials out and connects all the time, but there is not readout for what my connect speed is like Vista used to have. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix? MS seems to have really dumbed down the interface.

Re: Default Email Client

Re: Default Email Client I use Gmail & love it. I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. So I don't use any Microsoft products for either of these tasks. It used to be, when I was brows- ing, if I clicked on a mailto link, a new tab would open with a blank Gmail compose box, & I'd type in that & send it off. A while back, when I did this, nothing happened for about 15 seconds. Then suddenly, 58 Internet Explorer blank windows would pop up & cascade all over my screen. It doesn't happen on every web- site; in fact, I think it only happens when I try to reply to a Craigslist ad. When I've tried to set up Gmail as my client in t…

by Guest JCO- 7 replies

Running version 11 on xp pro. Can't run videos or it will just crash media player. All I get is the worthless dialog that comes up and asks if I want to send a report to Microsoft. Is there a repair option that I can do? If not, what are my options? I can't uninstall because it always fails. So I downloaded Media 11 and reinstalled it. The problem still exists.

Telephone Answer Software?
by Guest D. Kirkpatrick- 14 replies

I'm presently looking for a software package, free, share or paid, that will allow me to answer calls on my PC. I am NOT looking for VOIP ware such as Skype. What I am looking for is a solution that allows calls to come in on my telephone line into the modem/fax card that will give ma a caller ID but also allow me to answer the phone and use a headset. There seem to be plenty of packages that will receive voice mail messages and faxes but so far I am having a problem locating something that goes the next step to allow one to answer a call as well.
