Can anyone help? I have 2 hard drives in my pc the first is partitioned 3 times, the second twice. Is it possible that this is too many partitions for xp pro? What is the maximum amount of partitions aloud? I'm getting problems running defrag and am wondering if this is whats causing it? Thanks in advance.

I have been using My Pictures Slideshow as a screen saver for some time (perhaps 2 to 3 years), but note that photos from the last 2 years are never displayed. (I have been using a digital camera since 2003, and only photos from 2003 through early 2006 seemed to get displayed.) All photos in My Pictures are in subfolders named by shooting date. Does anyone have any idea why the more recent photos not being displayed? TIA

I decommissioned my old computer but i want to use my old hard drive as a secondary drive in my new machine. The old drive had XP Pro on it but now I want access to my old files and pictures. Though it worked fine in the old machine I can't get the new machine to recognize this drive though I hook it up correctly. I even put it in an hard drive casing and used a usb hookup but still the new machine will not recognize it. I have done this in the past with a hard drive that was my master and had Window 98 on it and am still using that drive for file storage. How do I get past the security to see my files?

I have recently obtained a machine with a NON-genuine version of Windows XP Pro SP2 installed on it. I have purchased a genuine version and want that installed. How can I go about doing this? Can I install the genuine version on top of the non-genuine version without losing data? Or can I simply enter in the registration key somewhere? Thank you in advance for your help.

My mother is using a basic MS usb mouse with the latest intellipoint drivers and the mouse locks up usually on the first boot every day. Then after rebooting the computer seems fine. I noticed that the usb hub and sata hard drive seem to be sharing IRQ 21. Do you think that could be the problem? Thanks-Joe

Hi, The logon dialogue box appears asking for the user name and password. When the password and user name is entered they can’t access the share. If they attempt to browse to the 2003 server via network neighbourhood they can’t even view the share on this server. When they click on the server in network neighbourhood they are prompted for the user name and password. This is not the case when they browse to any of the 2000 domain controllers in this domain as they can see the shares listed when they click on the 2000 DC name. Hello. I have a Dell Latitude laptop running Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I have broadband and am connected to a wireless network. I am trying to set up a PPTP VPN connection which terminates on a Cisco 831 router - a task which I have completed successfully on many occasions, also with machines running Windows XP Pro, and connecting to the same Cisco 831 router. Okay I have a PowerEdge 1750 server that was taken out of an Enterprise network setup and was given to me to install in a remote office. They don't want me to disjoin any of the domains as they want to be able to retrieve the data if needed. The server is currently configured for roughly 7 domains (when I am prompted to log in under Log-In To I see various domains and not just one primary domain) , i.e. addot domain, nvs domain, nhsta domain, abc domain etc etc... My task is to configure this server for the local domain TTB. Hello, I have a coupe of machines on one of our site on which I get the error "n days left for activation". The PC's were installed with our Volume Licensing key, so the license is valid. When I double-click on the message, the activation window appears and tells me "Your Windows is already activated", without having to reenter the License key or anything else. When I restart the PC and logon again, I get the same error "n days left for activation"..... We have about 1000 PC's installed with the same key and I only get the message on 6 PC's. Hi I am running Windows XP Home on a Gateway machine. I recently updated my Video card to a HIS Radion X1650 Pro. Since then I am receiving Windows Explorer crashes with the following error message: App Version 6.0.2900.2180 atimcenc.dll mod version 9.14.0.60829 offset 0063054 I also noticed a error on my AV One Pro Video conversion program. Thinking it might be a bad install, I deleted the card and programs in Safe mode and reinstalled with the same problems. We have a Windows 2003 Standard Edition that has been running. All of sudden, the server does not boot up. When the server boots up, it boots up to the blue screen of death. Is there a way to boot up the server without reinstalling the operating system? Thanks.

Is there anyone who has tried (with success) another software that can do pretty much the same tasks as the Volume Shadow Copy, but without the $%&* 64 snapshot limit? Or is it possible for MS to unlock the 64 limit?
