In the office when I try to connect to a remote client's VPN I connect then get the "Verifying username and password..." dialog window then I get an error box: --- Error 619: A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed... --- At home (or off of the network) I can connect successfully. I have XP Pro SP2, and am local admin. Our client sent their VPN settings and my settings are the same with the exception of ICS. On the screenshot they sent, it as the last 2 boxes checked: 1. Hello - I have a citrix server (PS 4.0 enterprise) running windows 2003 SP1. This system has all of a sudden started rebooting on it's own... Originally, the reboot was blaming UPHClean, so i uninstalled it and it still is rebooting randomly... I cannot pinpoint the reboot - it seems to happen when someone either logs off a session in citrix, or opens a session... I cannot pinpoint exactly what's going on to make the reboot occur... this is the most recent bug check (any help would be GREATLY appreciated - let me know if you need more info too): Microsoft ® Windows Debugger Version 6.6.0007.5 Copyright © Microsoft Corporation. Okay, don't get excited about the obvious. I need some selling help and I'm looking for your referral to a document or two that explains why hosting on the Windows platform is an advantage to business persons who have never had a website before. <%= Clinton Gallagher NET csgallagher AT metromilwaukee.com URL http://clintongallagher.metromilwaukee.com/

Hello, I have downloaded the Trial copies of WUDSS. I received my key and am able to install windows 2k3 with out an issue. However when i go to add the WUDSS package i get an error stating that I need to have windows Storage Server 2003 installed. I was wondering if this is an issue anyone else has seen. A little more background. ( as the above may be unclear ) when you go to download the WUDSS trial you get a link to a 180 day trial of WIndows 2003 Enterprise. Microsoft sends you a key via email that when entered converts the W2k3 to Windows Storage Server 2K3. ( supposedly ). During install I entered this Key however i see no change. I…

Services.exe terminates with -1 status code
by Guest Bill Green- 0 replies

All~ I have an XP box that I manage remotely. I just put the box in about two weeks ago, but I have been getting an error when I log in that says "The system process 'C:\WINNT\system32\services.exe' terminated unexpectedly with status code -1. The system will now shut down and restart." How long its been sitting there in that state by the time I login I cannot tell. Often times when it restarts, I have trouble remoteing into the system. It appears to connect but the login dialog never appears even though I see a background. Having to drive out to this office daily is not an option. I cannot find anything on the Microsoft site (or a general goog…

Robocopy repeatedly updates files on remote server
by Guest Michael- 2 replies

Can anyone explain to me why robocopy always tries to copy some files everytime it syncs the source and destination even though the files haven't been modified in some cases for days, months or years? The options I used are: Source : \\xyz\abc Dest : \\def\jkl Files : * Options : /TEE /S /E /COPY:DAT /PURGE /MIR /R:1000000 /W:30 The files that do get modified are always changed on the source and the destination serves as a backup repository. The sync would only go the other way to restore the lost source system. The files get updated by both PCs and Sun workstations and the source is also an NFS server using Hummingbird 2007. Thank you…

Any suggestions please! Familiar with internals of win2kpro but this one has beaten me! After a few probs and rebuild of system, suddenly any 16bit program(Coreldraw 5 for example) which opens with "wowexec" has an odd problem. Programs open/run fine, but when a ''open file'' command is issued and the dialog box pos up, all files on current partition are shown but the ''drive'' box is either blank or showing the current drive only. Opening up the drop box, show just a large white space. However, putting full path in the filename box is fine. Please, which file(s) handle this particular box (as different format to all other 'open' boxes) so…

Clean Booting

well, if you have found that your system works perfectly in safemode(s), then this is good news. it indicates that windows itself is not corrupted. it also suggests that when you boot into normal mode something is loading and installing into windows that is also corrupting it. as the other responder suggests it could be a bad or incompatiable driver. however, it can also be malware or it could be a poorly designed program or a program that is improperly configured. there are several methods to approach issues like these. however this seems to be a good one to start with and there are others as well. just keep us posted with your status..... …

Display all folders in one view
by Guest zk44@yahoo.com- 2 replies

Is there a way to display all folders across a number of different drives in one view? So, for example, let's say I have folder ABC in Drive C, and Folder XYZ in Drive D. I want to display the folders in both drives at the same time (not in separate windows). If this can't be done in XP, can it be done by a commercial file manager? Thanks, Guy
