I had saved a number of savings bonds from a website directly onto the desktop of my computer. Now, they have disappeared, and I don't know how that could have happened. I am not the only user of this computer, but I do not think any other user (only my family) would have deleted or changed the files, at least not on purpose. I tried searching for the file names using the Windows XP Search option, and I found the file names in "Recent Documents", but when I clicked on them, I received a message saying that the links were shortcuts, and the original files that they referred to had been changed or removed. I am currently running XP Pro which I used for video editing. I have 3 stata HD each 500 gigs, 4 gigs mem. wiith a dual core processor at 2.421 gHz. Is there a way to install Media Center on one of the drives and have a choice on boot up which system I want to use at the time. Thanks, Jeff

In OE theHELP says yu can set the inbox to DL headers only. HOW? I can find the 'folders' list page but can not find 'settings' for say the inbox. when on dialup i want to set it toDL headers only, then i could delete the message or choose to DL the whole message. How do we set this up in OE?

Isn't there any way that you can connect to Vista Premium machine using a remote desktop connection? Any methods? workarounds... anything... I don't understand why it wouldn't be included in at least the premium edition.

Is Error-checking, under Tools, under Local Disk (C:) Properties, which runs while in XP, the same as doing a chkdsk from the command prompt, which then runs after reboot?

I've been anointed to provide a PC for somebody in the extended family. All they do is web mail and web page browsing... period, although I'd think any solution I provide should also be capable of rendering You-Tube videos. Whenever I send a fax from my XP Pro computer, the fax prints on my network printer. How can I disable this? I don't want the faxes I send to print on paper. Thank you in advance for your help. BT

Hi All, I need a help. I have a 2003 server with Exchange 2003 installed. However, the AD file ntds.dit is corrupted is can't be recovered. So, I decide to reinstall AD and server. My email server data is saved in external HD and seems ok. Can anyone teach me how to retrieve the email back after a new server install? Regards, Berthold

I believe the issue is that a folder is more than 255 characters in entire depth of the folder name e.g. c:\user info\templates for 2007\client templates\master library.... and Windows pretty much won't let you copy files there etc. Is there a way to have a 2003 R2 server to scans to make sure folders aren't beyond a certain length? The IDE drive is from a laptop and runs with the USB cable power. I can hear the drive running when I hook it up. It was working on the laptop before. I have seen the Disk management but nothing there. The problem seems to be that the windows fails to install the new hardware. It gives me message that recognised "USB-IDE" then as "USB Mass Storage " then it pops up saying "Failed to install new hardware" reason being that device is not recognised. I dont know how to solve it.

..okay i posted aquestion yesterday about my parents laptop..well i have it up and running now but when i went to go to delete a few programs they didnt need it say windows installer needs to be installed..i have already gone to microsoft and downloaded the only update they had for me is there something else i need to do. -- callie

I have 4 new 2003 server that were just setup. Everyone who logs into them gets a roaming profile on the server. We do not have roaming profiles setup on the domain nor do we have file redirection. How is this possible and how can we stop it? -- RS MCSE, MCP +I MCP
