Message comes up "cannot delete file. May be being used by another program" and no other programs are open!

just installed a used hp psc 2210xi all-in-one printer-scanner-fax- copier, can scan to a default folder (in my documents/my pictures) but when i try to open the .tif of the scan, i get the message "KODAKPRV caused an invalid page fault in module MSVCRT.DLL". am using W98SE. i tried the suggestion about removing/re-installing imaging from an earlier post, but that did not solve problem. any suggestions???

Hi all I need help with Windows NT Backup. I normally use Veritas or Arcserve but for a while I need to use NTBackup. The server is Win2K3 with Exchange2K3. I need to backup both the Win & Exchange servers. I can perform this task manually but when I try to schedule the task it NEVER works. The error I ALWAYS get is "Cannot locate the specified media or backup device. This backup operation will terminate." I have used the Wizard to create the backup job and schedule it but it still won't work. At first, this was an intermittent problem, but now every time I boot up, I get the error message that Windows has experienced a problem and shuts down, the programme then reboots itself and so the loop continues. If I go into Safe Mode, Control Panel, Admin Tools, Computer Management, Event Viewer, Application, I can see the problem with all the error messages. When I double click one of these, it says: Event ID 1000, Description: Faulting application services.exe. Version 0.0.0.0. fault address 0x00a25592. I just updated/installed IE 7 on my Toshiba laptop. During boot, I get this error message: SmartBridge Alerts: MotiveSB.exe - Entry Point not found.....Procedure entry point Get ProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL What does this mean and how can I fix it? IE 7 seems to be running OK but it's an annoying message every time I turn on my computer. Thanks!

What causes mystery hangups in the Windows Explorer? I'm running XP Home on a 3.0 GHz system with 2GB of RAM. Sometimes Explorer will get into a state where almost any action -- scrolling the foler listing in the left pane, selecting a new folder, etc -- locks up the Explorer for anywhere from 10sec to a minute or more. Often opening a new Explorer window will get around the problem for a while (the new Explorer works fine while the old one is still hung), but generally the new one will get hung up before long too. Is there a way to limt access to a server, thru rdp, for certain ip addresses?

Why is my laptop so slow. Does anyone else have this problem with XP? Is there anyway to overcome this? I have done the usual: ie compacting drives, various registry cleaners etc. but nothing helped so I am beginning to wonder if it is XP rather than anything else. I've run PC Pitstop and it's advised me to add the MTU registry key to optimize my network speed. The key its says to add is in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\[Adapter ID]. When I go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ I see THREE different adapter IDs. How do I know which is the correct one? I am running a Toshiba Tecra 9000 wirelessly, but it also has an NIC as well which is not used. Thanks!

Can anybody advise me on a way to route only http traffic to a certain IP. My DG points to .254, but that is only for the internal vpn and mail. HTTP traffic all goes to .253 but update.microsoft.com does not work even when specifying proxy as .7 which routes that traffic to .253. What I need to do in the routing table is route only http traffic to a certain ip, different to the DG, without using a proxy. Any help / insight would really be appreciated. Brandon.

Hi I have a Compound File Unfragmenter [unfrag.exe] from Ziff Davis about 1999 It unfrags compound files like Word & Excel, but it has stopped working and I don't know why. Hello, I am getting the following error every 10 or so hours on a W2k3 citrix box. Source: Application Error Category: 100 Type: Error EventID: 1000 Faulting application , version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault address 0x000224b2. I dont really have any ideas on this one and cant find any info? Anyone able to point me in the right direction?
