Need Help

I have set up WEB server (Windows 2003 SP2 with IIS) to host a site. While looking through the security events audit. I noticed a large number of FAILURE AUDITS with the MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1 and KRBTGT\ service. These audits have various logon user names like PETER, APPLE, ROOT, LISA, MASTER, DOG and other random names. It has the sourceworkstation = the computer name of my server, and it has an error code of 0xC0000064. I am concerned. This happens for about a minute and stops during certain days. What is this? Is it an inside or outside hijack. What can this do? Can it control the computer. Thanks BUC

hello all I've got a DVD movie i just bought from an online store, it's a legit DVD movie, not a bootleg.... well, it LOOKS legit. Who knows anymore. Anyway, it plays fine in a DVD player connected to a television.. but wont load or show up on two different windows XP computers. Both computers will load and play other DVD movies... just not this one. The disc never even shows up in the computer.. the drive spins and nothing ever happens... go to My Computer, and it shows there is nothing in the drive. Click the drive letter and nothing happens. Weird. Anybody ever seen this? Is it just a bad DVD?

Shutdown problems

I have shutdown problems problems with a laptop with Windows XP Professional Edition SP2 installed on it. It ALLWAYS hangs (stops responding), so I allways must power off by keeping power button pressed for 5 seconds. If I boot in safe mode, I have no problems on shutdown. It doesent't look like related to software installed by users (except, may be, antivirus), becouse I have this problem even when I try to shuttdown from 'welcome screen', when I haven't still loged on with any user. I have tried to use /bootlog option, and readed ntbtlog.txt, but I can't find any 'Terminate' and 'EndTerminate' sections. Are theese sections only present on BOOTLOG.tx…

power toolbar on taskbar lost
by Guest lili- 3 replies

The power management "toolbar" (the little picture of the battery and power plug) was inadvertently closed. How do I retrieve it? I tried opening the "power options" window from the control panel, but the only option I found for displaying anything about power management on the taskbar was "Always show icon on the taskbar". When I checked this box, a little plug icon showed up to the right of the arrow that expands the hidden taskbar icons, but that is not the icon I have lost, and it is not in the same location on the taskbar. The icon that has always been there - and that I want back - is of a horizontally oriented battery, with the amount of charge …

Hi, We are running terminal services on a windows 2003 member server, with windows server 2003 r2 on our domain controller. I removed Client for microsoft networks, in an attempt to sort another problem out. On reboot I re-installed. On the DC I am getting this error "The dns server has encountered a critical error from the active directory: ID 4015 . and 4004 : The dns server was unable to complete directory service enumeration of sone sunnyfield.local. Our local users are logging on fine. On the terminal server, Group policy is not being applied and this event is being logged. 1053: Windows cannot determine the user or computer name.
