Hello, How can a FTP site be set up to accept one user id? How does anonymous access work? What user name and password should be assigned? Is the user name and password a domain level one or a local one to the ftp site? I am having problems allowing an account to connect to the ftp site. It says that the access is denied. Hi I had a problem with XP not able to get in and repaired from the XP disk. Works OK but- my son had a user account in his name with a password. He cannot get into his folder ( Freds Documents) as the system says access denied. We tried setting up a profile again with the same user name and password but the system will not let him. Is there any way to get access to this folder? He has a record deal with a company online and the songs he recorded are in that folder and not backed up!! Any help appreciated Thanks

I've noticed sometimes the buttons on my taskbar get reordered. I don't know why this happens. I also can't figure out how to order them back to what I'd prefer. Can anyone help on this?

Question 1 One of my drives has two folders with the Trash Basket icon. One is named Recycled and the other Recycle Bin. Why are there two and what's the difference between them? Question 2 Are file deletions segregated by drive? That is, a file deleted on drive H goes in H's recycle bin and no deleted files from another drive ever go in H's bin. jim

In Folder Options > File Types, I have got no entry or association for the .JOB file type (this is for the scheduler). Maybe this is why my XP schedular cannot make new entries. What should I have as the association for .JOB?

why windows 64 bits either xp or vista can use 4 GB of RAM and 32 bit version only report 3 GB , what happened to the other GB , is it idle? or simply cannot be addressed thanks

I want to transfer files and settings from 98SE to XP Pro, using a serial cable. The Transfer Wizard instructions imply that I need a monitor for my old computer as well as my new one. Is this right, or have I missed something? I have only one monitor and connecting and re-connecting could be a nuisance. Is there a device that will switch the monitor from one computer to the other? My old computer has USB 1.0, so a flash drive is not possible, and I do not know enough to move the hard drive to my new computer, so I would have to pay somebody. Thanks in advance for your help. I just started getting this blue screen on shutdown that says something about a corrupted driver or software. It says to check newly installed hardware or software. I installed a new monitor, a usb wireless adapter and a wireless logitech keyboard mouse in the past few days. They all work grerat and I looked under device manager for improperly working devices/drivers and seen nothing. It also says I may need a Windows Update. I do not let my pc do automatic updates since the worm years ago. I have WinXP Home. My pc runs smoothly except for the screen on shutdown. Hello. I have the latest version of Live messenger. When I click start/help and support/invite a friend to help by remote. Next screen tells me, "Windows messenger is not installed. Anyone help please? WIN/XP SP2 All updates done.

I spent a short stint a year or so ago working in a Help Desk environemnt. On that network they had some Netware server and there was a software package that we used to remotely access the user PC... I think we entered the user account name, the got a popup that asked if we agreed to give them access to their system and likely asked what level of access to give us. The product might have been or had something to do with ZenWorks... I suspect there was an agent installed on both machines... Is there a Micrsoft equivilent? How can I expand the quick launch toolbar? When I added an item to it I already had several windows open on the taskbar so it pushed it up to where I have to click the chevrons (>>) to get at any items beond the first three. I would like more of them to show but I don't see any way to "stretch" it.

Looking for a software that will permit editing an ISO file, to add large files in it... We have ISO images of standard machines, but want to add files to the ISO image ranging from 1 to 3 gig each file. Most ISO editing software limit the addition to 200 or 500 meg.
