Hi We have WSUS 2.0 today (Windows 2003 SP1 on all servers), but want ot upgrade to 3.0. I can't find much information on "how to upgrade". I have found the MS docs on how to install, but they say nothing on upgrade. Can you give me a clue how much work this is and what is the most important issues to be aware of? Do you have a upgrade document?

Hi! Some days ago we had a small problem with the NTFS folder rights on one of our 2003 servers. I dont want to go into detail now because its not important for my question. Here it comes: Do you know a program which can show me the NTFS folder rights of multiple folders? For example from a folder and all subfolders and files in it. I dont wanna edit them, just take a look at it. Thanks! Philipp Ritter

History of issue:- All users belonged to the Single(e.g:- S) OU in the Active Directory. This OU(i.e S) had Group Policies assigned against it and a number of Logon scripts were run. All users were located in one location with no problems. A project was raised to separate the users in two different OU ( E.g:- U1 and U2) because of businesses requirment and the in new building was prepared. As a joint exercise, the U1 users and U2 users were separated into 2 newly created OU's (e.g:- S1 and S2). These new OU's ran the same GPO's (with some slight differences, mainly branding) and the same Logon scripts. The U2 staff were moved to new building. At…

How do I remove? While on the Microsoft site trying to fix another problem I inadvertently did something to display "Windows XP Home Edition" and " Build.....(Service Pack 2)" in white type on the lower left of my desktop just above the system tray. I can't for the life of me remember what page this was on!!! Its really annoying and I would like to remove it. Any idea?

Write caching

I have 3 onboard hard drives. 1 is an old scsi drive. 2 others are identical SATAs. SATA is remapped to ide here for bootability (older SATA). Under device manager, selecting any of the hard drives, policies, write caching is enabled under write caching and removal, optimize for performance. XP does this by default, none are removable hard drives. Noticed there's a slight performance loss when write caching is not enabled. But, in one 3rd party application use, while its READING the XP partition image of one of the SATA hard drives image results on another hard drive, a verification error may occur from time to time. When write caching is disable…
