I am getting this error when I am at (TMZ.com) and I click on the bottom of the page to proceed to the next page. Nothing happens for about 10 minutes then this 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' error box pops up...I click it, and it goes to the next page, as it should have,,, If I try to close the page before the box pops up,,, it hems and haws and doesnt close, then if I 'ctrl-alt-delete, and try to end the process, I get no response.... and it will all eventually close... The icon in my taskbar doesnt show communication to the websight.. Any ideas? (Ive tried to be as thorough as I can,,,)

After installed this version of visual studio i have been seeing on the notification area the windows security Alerts when i connect to the internet. It says your machine firewall is being off and make it on for better security. when i try to to enable it's state a message box appears saying i couldn't change and suggests to change it in the control panel. I opened the firewall icon in the control panel , but i found out the firewall is still ON. I made it on and off to cancel the alert on the notifaction area but it stays there. i never saw such kind of behaviour before the installation of this product. what could be the problem. bkg

I've lost the icon(s) for Images on my laptop

Hi, I have a Dell laptop running windows xp SP2 and I've just lost the windows fax and pricture viewer icon that normally represents all the jpgs and images that I have on the laptop. Instead I have the generic windows file icon (the one that does not know what the file type is). Before this happened, I updated Adobe and uninstalled the Adobe photoshop manager that is downloaded as part of upgrading to v.8 of Adobe reader. Does anyone know how I can get this default Icon back? Regards EuroDjuro

Can't get pass windows logon in safe mode. Now I'm Stuck!!
by Guest romac- 12 replies

I'm running XP Pro. I was in the process of a virus removal. The removal tool told me to start up in safe mode as the first step. I went into msconfig and changed startup to safe mode and then restart. Now I get the windows logon prompt with the user name filled in and a blank password field. I typed in the password (it's the same as user) and I get the logon message : "system could not log you on" Now I'm stuck at safe mode logon. How can I bypass so I can continue the steps for me to remove the virus? Or how can I get back to normal mode? Thanks in advance people.

Missing files with name starting above "H"...

I have a user who stores all their data on a shared folder on a Windows 2k3 server. In the users folder there are several thousand files. Starting at the end of last week any file or folder starting with letters I - Z do not show up in the folder. I have tried to access it from multiple PCs, using accounts with "Full" permissions and I cannot get it to show me any of the files starting with "I" and above. If I go to a DOS prompt I can do a "Dir" command and they all show up, I just can't see them in a GUI window. So that the user could continue to work I use the DOS command line to copy all the "missing" files in to a temp folder on my local PC called "LR…

Desktop will not update

Display of opened windows on my desktop will not update. Example: Change a folder name in a window and "enter." Name will not update. Close window then open window and display of folder name is now updated. Just started. Happens in all windows. (Tried searching for help on updating display of windows and obviously I get items not relevant to my problem.)
