Legacy Windows Archive ( Read Only )

Is it possible to move the windows updated files or other files in the c:\windows directory to another partition? A new customer purchased a server from Dell with a 12 GB primary partition. Now they have 2GB free, over 7 GB is the c:windows directory. The other big directory is c:\documents and settings. BTW they are running Windows 2003 sp2 with AD and Exchange 2003. Yes, firefox is already pretty damn fast but did you know that you can tweak it and improve the speed even more? That's the beauty of this program being open source. Here's what you do: In the URL bar, type "about:config" and press enter. XP assigns letters automatically to drives. What happens when more than 26 drives are present?

Print Spooler won't start; dependent on lexbces.exe but that won't start either; So why? Windows XP Home SP2 I have two Lexmark printers installed (or at least I used to). Actually, I have the Lexmark folders in Program Files, but the printers don't seem to be installed anymore. The printers are Lexmark 640 series Lexmark 2400 series They pretty much worked until just now. In the Printer and Faxes folder I only see the Add Printer and nothing else. When I try to start Add Printer, I get an alert saying the Printer Spool service isn't running. When I go to (run) services.msc , I find that Print Spooler is stopped. my laptop monitoris broken, i can get my pc monitor to work with it in safe mode but soon as i boot up normally it goes to my broken laptop monitor is there a way to bypass it and just use my pc monitor have tried in display but it will only let me change settings not add new monitor(or even use second),would appreciate any help its driving me nuts thanks richard

Was having some "freezing" problems on computer. Took back parts provder to have it tested. Thru everything but the kitchen sink at it and could not replicate the errors. Said "all is good, take it home". Now my itunes and quicktime will not work. Keep getting an error message and a request to send to MS. When we check the error message it say's it's trying to run on Windows NT! Keep removing, deleting, rebooting, re-downloading to no avail. Used to work, now it doesn't! Anyone else having any great ideas on how I can get itunes to function. BTW, I have the disk for an earlier version that came with my ipod. Can't get that to work either now…

what is that default ip address that you get when your config is bogus.... I have noticed a persistant route on my pc and I think it may have bee established by that default address that xp will assign with it cant find the dhcp server

Here is my situation: I was part of the technology advancement program (32bit to 64bit upgrade) a couple years back. Recently I went to reinstall windows x64 and and my disk is corrupt. (There was a link provided to download the .iso in the program.) The link no longer works (obviously) so I downloaded the latest version assuming my key would work. No go. It installed the trial OK but will not accept my key. I have spoke to about 10 different people at Microsoft who have no idea about this program or how to support x64. Is it possible to format and use an older 720K floppy in XP?

Ok I installed a new 320GB HD in Win2k by doing the EnableBigLba registry change and everything worked fine. Two days ago I reinstalled Win2k and of course it didn't recognize the drive above 128MB, nor did it recognize the formatting. So, I did the registry mod again and it still didn't work. I was messing around and made the new drive "active". I confess, I didn't know WHAT I was doing, I was just trying to get it to work. I still dont' know what that does. :( Well I later learned that I needed SP3 or greater for BigLba to work.
